Americorp.

One kid did 2 years and another is considering doing a year. It would get you out of the house and give you some tuition credit when you complete the year. They pay, but not generously. You might even be able to work in something related to the field you want to get into.

Direct quote from my then 19 year old son after he'd started at his Americorp post helping people avoid homelessness "Thank you for making me finish high school. I guess you guys were right about a bunch of stuff." First 19 year old in history to admit that parents know something.

Question. EM. Do you ever experience that weird dejavu feeling? It's like you've already been here and done this and there's this feeling that I'm on the lookout for something that is about to happen that I know but I don't.

I know that sounds SO weird. I just had to ask.

PS I came into work amidst lots of giggling. Apparently our noble (cough cough) country had a political debate that I missed last night.

Hope this isn't triggering to anyone. Not really sure how to judge that yet. Forgive me if it is. Could be. Anyway.

Went to the trail today. There were those amazing blooms. Spring IS coming!! Came home. Fire on the back deck and had to bring some home with me. Happy Weekend!!The Couch - 109: CIX-Reintroduction

Are you watching the one with normal people (as opposed to "celebrities")? I am a big Dr. Drew fan (I know a lot of people don't like him, but I do ) and have seen them all (looking forward to the new 'Family Therapy' series on VH1 soon also!).

"Sex with Mom and Dad" is Drew's ickiest show title ever. But he is a smart guy, I just don't know if he himself has problems with narcissism.

So Yeah, I would need a bottle of booze to watch. The first season of Celebrity rehab felt cruel to watch. It felt wrong to watch these people crash and burn.

It would be the only way to make the show/man watchable in my opinion

In general, I dislike reality television. I already take a pretty dim view of humanity (present company excepted), and reality tv convinces me I'm right - and that it's worse than I thought it was.

I am not a fan of it. I am not that great at watching anything except opera and some musicals or the symphony - When the tv is on I am usually doing something else at the same time and I fast forward a lot. I have the attention of a gnat when it comes to video type things.

Ya know. I agree with you. TV really doesn't have anything for me anymore. Reality TV fries my mind. The Couch - 109: CIX-Reintroduction

I just saw Family Therapy! I don't really like Dr Jenn very much, but I love these shows...can't help it...

NO. That isn't a show, is it?! Also, I <3 Dr. Drew, and always have. I listen to all of his podcasts as well. And he defines himself as a co-dependent.

I don't think so but you might want to make amends when things are going better.

At least you're maintaining contact - when I get down, I totally withdraw from contact with anyone who might care, which is what I am now doing IRL.

I would not say complete asshole - but it doesn't usually help anything to lash out at them. If close friends, then I would apologize and next time not be around them when I was feeling unable to deal with bumbling. I can go be around strangers or students (They are very self absorbed) and not be isolated but not have to engage with anyone who is trying to be kind and messing it up.
I can't be around people who try to be comforting when I am upset. I find their attempts awful even while recognizing how much they are trying to be kind.

I'm on the borderline of withdrawing contact after today.

I agree. I have a friend that I tried to share with what was happening with me, that I was trying to understand. She had no clue what I was saying. No understanding. I've learned to gauge what's going on.

Example: I shared with her, that if I looked not really there, could she just walk me to a safe place?

She laughed and said " I'll just throw some ice down your back and get you back!"

Really?? Someone who has no understanding or ability to understand.
