I'm not sure why I'm going to the session today since she'll be off for a month after her surgery on the 12th.

There won't be much point in getting into anything, right?

But I want to wish her well. Actually I want to hug her but I know I can't even say that or ask.

I hate hate hate good-byes.

I'm not sure if there will be much point in getting into anything or not. I think there might be. I hate goodbyes. Wish the freakin word or the meaning of it didn't exist!!

But I'm proud of you for going to the session and not running away! (not meaning to be patronising at all.... I wanted to just cut ties with a T and .. well that's another story.. Last session today before her month away)

Everyone here is wishing you and your T well, we're here for you Last session today before her month away Last session today before her month away Last session today before her month away Last session today before her month away Last session today before her month away Last session today before her month away

((( Fuzzy )))

Thanks for your kind and encouraging words!

Running away is easier in the short run, but I'm slowly learning it wreaks havoc in the long run.

Best wishes for your session, Echoes. I think we should all pay attention to that quote. It fits us all in so many ways.

Thanks for the quote Echoes. I think I need that one now.

I say go to session today and allow the sadness or whatever comes forth to come forth. Sorry that you will have a month away. Perhaps you can talk of what you would do with that time.

Thanks pink and SecretGarden, too.

It ended up being a good session.... a quiet, intimate one Last session today before her month away

I asked if she was nervous about her surgery (yes) and then she asked about my illness and surgery experience. I was afraid I'd make her more nervous! Last session today before her month away Last session today before her month away

She will call when she's feeling better and we can see then about setting up a phone session; she just doesn't know how it's going to go and how she's going to be feeling. That was a little scary to hear because it sounds like it is not just a curative surgery but a diagnostic surgery, and she won't know what's what til it's over.

All week I thought of her. I wanted so much to hug her. I have wanted to hug her for a long time. But I analyzed my desire to ask and wondered if I was exploiting her illness and upcoming surgery to satisfy my own old and on-going deep longing for a hug.... But in the end I wanted to do it for her so I asked "Could I give you a hug?" Aaaack!!! Here comes the denial I've envisioned all week! Can I take it?!

She said "Sure!"

Last session today before her month away

It was sooooo wonderful to be able to hug her, to be able to hug her and tell her I wished her the best and would miss her!

I'll never forget that hug!! Last session today before her month away Last session today before her month away Last session today before her month away

I'm so glad you went and thanks for sharing! Your interaction warmed my heart, and I'm sure you will relive it and hold onto it until you see her again.

I will be thinking of both of you.

Now that sounds like a wonderful session Echoes. I am so pleased for you and glad that you asked the question and .... that you got to share a hug. Last session today before her month away I am SOOOO pleased for you.

I also enjoyed your comment on another thread about the oppurtunity that Hallmark should be jumping on... Ohhhh so true. :-)

(((( SecretGarden )))))

Thank you so much. It really was heaven to hug her!!

Well maybe we should start an at-home computer-based business? All we'd have to do is kind of make over all the I love you, I miss you, you're like a mother/father to me, and thank you cards.

I guess we'd have to add a category or two like "I #&%$# you!" for some?

Like who? Last session today before her month away Last session today before her month away Last session today before her month away

Anyway, you took the words outta my mouth! I was gonna say, fine if Hallmark wants to start a therapist card line, that's great... but guess who should be cashing in on that? Who better to write the cards than us? I will do the "%#@&#! you" product line for all of those times when clients get mad at their Ts! Then I can do the very comparable "I wanna %#@&#! you" product line to suit all of our consumer's erotic transference needs! Last session today before her month away Last session today before her month away I will work on those since most of my experience falls into those two categories!
