Welcome to the couch, old and new! A place to hang out - sometimes you get immediate feedback, sometimes you don't. See below for a reintroduction to what the couch is...
---------

Shouting, "Cool Whip" tends to bring others out of the woodwork if you're feeling lonely.

This is a chatty thread. All are welcome. We're kind of psychologically oriented. We try to be supportive. Sometimes we discuss what that means.

Its a place to plop down on the couch when you come home from work or wherever, or wake up in the middle of the night, or check in at lunch, rant a bit or not, and be among friends.

We advise you not to drink or drug and text your therapist ("t") - we speak from experience.

Sometimes the thread moves fast and you might get overlooked; sometimes it moves slowly and all you hear are crickets. Sometimes you get hugged or thanked pages later. So if its a bigger question, you might want to start a new thread.

I did it once. After I sent it I heard your PSA in my head and ceased sending anything further. So thank you for being annoying.

The HGs of the world have their place from time to time.
Funny how we hear each other sometimes when all we do is write.

I've got mental images of the faces and voices of most of the Couch regulars.

And no worries, they are all flattering!

I was thinking that the other day. I was in an airport and someone walked by and I pictured that that was what 'so and so' from the couch probably looks like, and 'giving' those we communicate with even through words voices it is fascinating to me. Brains are fascinating. Except mine, I need a new one.

I'm weird. More nervous and rambly than weird maybe. Who knows.

I only take pictures of my eye or other random bits of anatomy when something is wrong and needs close inspection. Being single doesn't prevent close inspection!

Busy day and a new couch to break in. Yay! What's the theme? I don't see any pics yet.
Thanks for this!

Unfortunately I live in the tropics but adore British garddens. I would have Hollyhoks and hyacynths in my ideal garden.

Oh god. The ortho doc said it would be WAY more painful than the last set when they did my rotator cuff bursaae and he was not lying. I almost puked after the shots , probably in part because they prepped me then left me sitting for 45 minutes half naked staring at the 4 in long needles destined for my shoulder joints after telling me it was going to hurt like hell. I was pretty anxious by the time they came in to actually do the deed. It took them 4 tries to get my right shoulder joint BC I was too tense. Left one went OK because it was first.
Pain is slowly getting better but I've been fighting nausea all day. Anti nausea meds finally helping a bit. Glad its my day off and no horse emergencies so far so I could just lie down and try to rest

Two of my favorites along with delphiniums. I had a huge collection of irises of many rare colors....and we needed a new septic tank and drain field this fall. Contractor failed to mention he'd need to rip out the entire garden so about $500 in iris bulbs are now scattered across the mud plain that is our back yard never to grow again😕😕

That is so awful. It probably took you ages to get the collection too. ((BB))

For the first time in a good number of weeks, I've actually been able to lose myself in a book. It's a good feeling. Maybe things are looking up?

Yeah it was about 9 years worth of planting and searching...took them less than 15 minutes to destroy it all
