I am not looking forward to retirement

You can't be that close to retirement, surely?

And may I point out that a goodly number of professors never seem to retire?

For trailrunner.

This is where I sometimes walk my dog, only it's the road part, not the trail part. I took the picture from my car on my way out.
Thanks for this!

It's beautiful!! Thank you for that!! I so love it!

I am pretty sure I seem Gru at heart (the first movie not the second). In my head, I am Kingsfield. In real life, probably more like Rumpole.

I had to look the movie up. For an awful moment I thought someone had actually made a movie about the grue paradox which has lamentably been stuck in my head since my college roommate wrote her senior thesis on it.

I will henceforth imagine you as Kingsfield. Rumpole has a cool wig, though.

I am much more low brow with movies. Cartoons and mockumentaries and black comedies are my speed.
The Grue paradox might be fascinating but movie guys would **** it up by trying to add in some love story or something.

Despicable Me.

I typically show up close to my appt time, but I will still have to stand or sit there out in the open until she's ready. Does anyone else have a therapist with no waiting room?
Yes. There is a landing outside T's office door where I leave my coat and shoes and wait for him to buzz me in. I make sure to show up no more than five minutes ahead of time, as there is nowhere to sit. There is only one other door off the landing - it's the top floor of a building - and that is some kind of janitorial office. It has happened maybe three or four times in four years that people have come through from that door while I've been waiting.

I prefer this to a waiting room - it is much less public. But a hallway shared with offices and a school seems more exposed. I would not like that I think.

My future daughter has to have surgery tomorrow to remove a kidney stone. This as been a very hard journey for her. If you are inclined, I would value your prayers for her. Her name is Maddie. She is a part of my heart that I didn't know until about 2 years ago.

She has gone through much, as we all have, but she is looking forward to new beginnings as we all are. She's really amazing.

Again, if you inclined to, please say a prayer for her recovery.

Thank you!!

Matron of Honor duties today.
Errands.
Returns.
Dress Cleaning.
Hopefully it will keep me busy enough to stay out of my head and then I can crash on the couch when I'm done.
Still strange having an empty house again.
Husband will be home in 12 days.
That will be interesting.
It's been awhile since I've shared a house longer than 3-5 days with him.
Have a good Monday couchies.

It's been a Monday.. You know the kind where an terminated employee brings a suit against your facility for wrongful termination and violating Americans with disabilities act.. I'll be drinking tonight.
