Hug! I was in a quiet mod today. I read your post and thought of you today running your errands. I hope it did keep you for being so much in your mind. It was a beautiful day here. I hope it was there, where you are for your running around. Couch 114 - Take a PewCouch 114 - Take a Pew

I love this!! My h used to tell that I just needed to toughen up and not be so sensitive. Well. He got his wish as far as he's concerned. Just saying.

Thank you to the ones who offered kind words and prayers for my daughter to be. Her surgery went well and they removed the kidney stone. She should be coming home tomorrow morning.

Our youngest was given the Texas Music Educators Association's Texas Music Scholar award today for achievement in music, academics, and citizenship. Quite a nice honor. He's a fine young man and very talented.

My middle son went with me to rehearsal tonight. All I can say is this symphony is a typical Mahler piece. HUGE orchestra - 6 harps and a second full orchestra that plays behind the stage to mimic the sound of distant music. Awesome piece though. Rather fascinating.

I brought up moving to the husband when they moved in. Wouldn't be that bad if they didn't out their damn play set under my bedroom window.

Somehow my whole house get cleaned. I only intended to clean the lounge and office area, but all rooms bar the storage room are clean. How did that happen? I think maybe taking my heart meds correctly may have helped.

I have always wondered where all these people who love other peoples children are. Every parent I have met says they don't children except their own.

My house was always full of the neighborhood kids -- mostly mobs of stinky, sweaty boys. I don't mind other people's kids (heck, I spend 24/7 with teenagers). If they are brats, that's another story, but fortunately I didn't run into many that I couldn't get to follow some basic household rules -- it's a teacher thing.

I am a firm believer in Queen Victoria's attitude towards children - not of any interest until they turn 18 and can have an intelligent conversation.

I bet by 18 they could speak in coherent narratives too. . Although perhaps not, judging by some "college" students I get.

So me, my best friend, and her boyfriend are talking about maybe having a threesome. I kinda want to, but at the same time I'm worried because I've heard it's not good to do that with friends. Have any of you had a threesome? Was it with a friend? How was your relationship afterward? Any advice on how I could do this while keeping our relationship the same?

Hey couch!

Ellahmae, sorry the noisy kids get to you, but are those MOUNTAINS in your photo?
Amazing view!
I don't like little kids, I like teens though (though I couldn't eat a whole one harhar)

Threesomes...hmmm, did some of that stuff years ago when I was a young 'un. I don't think it messed up friendships particularly, but looking back I wish I had been more boundaried.

Little sleep and nightmares when I do. It is not making for a fun month. I am hoping a return to external structure after memorial day helps. If not, I may turn to my adult smoking substance (I have to use it a couple of times a year if the sleeplessness gets really bad)

Ellahmae, I mistook the reflection of your blinds for railroad tracks and thought that the situation was going to resolve itself in a really messy way. I have one neighbor whose backyard is next to my bedroom and he goes out every night to talk on the phone. He goes on and on and on about everything from the news to his relationship problems. Instead of letting it irritate me, I am enjoying hearing him drone on and on, waiting to hear the next stupid thing he will say. It's not the same as with kids screeching, which would make my brain bleed, but I can understand the neighbor issue somewhat.
Thanks for this!

Yes, it's the screaming that makes my brain bleed. Especially when I'm already fighting off and dealing with PTSD symptoms and then the dogs start barking at the shrills. Blah. If they were just laughing or talking - totally be okay. Maybe I'll go talk to the parents about asking them to at least stop the screaming at 21:00.

Is there an HOA there or community rules, Ellahmae? Those usually include quiet hours.

There are both (HOA & CCRs). Quiet hours is 22:00, but 21:00 seems to be my personal breaking point. haha - I need to implement you can't be my neighbor unles... rules.

I'm $0.82 off in my register - it's driving me crazy.
