I think i figured something out. In lawyerese, things dont have to logically follow through an entire train of thought, like they do in computer programming. No - lawyers just jump off going boo! anywhere all willy-nilly and they think they won. But all they did was jump off the train by themselves. They didnt derail it. The logic just keeps chugging along to the next station.
Thanks for this!

Surely that's because lawyers in court are dealing with human beings - judges, juries, witnesses - and therefore it isn't always to their benefit to use pure logic? Human beings suck at pure logic. They get emotionally derailed.

Eta: this only applies if I understood your post. Which I am not sure I did.

The puppy is not a fan of fireworks.
(he is a year old, but as the newest member of the family-he remains the puppy until displaced by a younger newcomer.)

Squirrel suits help you fly down to earth - not out of the atmosphere.

And oddly enough - some of my friends call me Sheldon. Granted - it is mostly due to my attitude about love and intimate partners - but still.

My cats don't like fireworks either - 2 of them will be under the bed once they start, and the 3rd one will just make sure he is with people constantly (usually my son, but he's not home much anymore!)

Hmm. My mother sent me 3 birthday cards. I wonder if she is losing it, or trying to make up for something. How odd.

Huh, I would have thought that unaluna was the one who spoke Mandarin.

In my experience the lawyers are sound asleep in the sleeper car with the doors locked and you have to keep hammering and yelling at said doors 'til one wakes up for long enough to tell you to go away

I've been waiting for my divorce papers since February. I might just be the tiniest bit peeved.

I'm also less than pleased at the limits of my protective order. I have no choice but to meet with the ex regularly, because of the kids, and he can harass me as much as he likes at that time and there's sweet f-a- that can be done about it because it's my word against his

I think lawyers are more likely to commandeer the train and take it to a destination that most of the passengers do not want to visit. Logic sits at the originating platform, waiting for the train to return, saving the cost of a ticket and the misery of riding a train commandeered by a lawyer.

:
In lawyer time - that was just a day or so ago. But to be clear - are you waiting on the lawyer or is it the order you need from the judge?

This is nor comforting. My malpractice lawsuit is escalating and while neither my attorney nor the head of my liability trust thinks there is any reasonable caae against me, just the sheer amount of time it is dragging out for is breaking me down. They said it could be another 6-12 months for a ruling. Its already been 4 months. I need this to be over. I can't keep rehashing it.
