That looks great! Except for all the cheese, what about putting some beetroot and lettuce on it.
Thanks for this!

My arteries clogged looking at it, too.

I LOVE lettuce on a burger, I usually put a small salad's worth on mine!

My dogs are not as keen on pastrami as other meats - I think the brine and the pepper/coriander mix make it a tad too spicy for them.

The ex has the kids tomorrow, and as usual I'm an anxious wreck about it... He threatened to leave me and take the kids away a few times too many for me to ever be comfortable with his visitation days...

I know, right? My son wants to go there but we haven't been yet.

And about your ex - I'm so sorry.

p.s. I still have not been told when I'm coming to Phoenix for work, I hope to hear something next week though!

Hope I don't bring down the mood of the couch but I need support, witnesses etc. really hurting here. I am at my final mid country destination but not without a road trip gone wrong. Maybe some medical peeps on here can help me out in understanding something
Most of the ride with my dad was fine but throughout the trip he had erratic fits of irritability or rage - he was his same asshat self only exagggerated and unpredictable. He is 70 and we have never had a good relationship but I needed help getting my car across country and he offered ( I think his lovely new wife actually pressured him I don't think he'd offer on his own). At the worst point, he almost sideswiped another car by not checking his blind spot. I yelped out dad look out because the car three inches from mine startled me. My dad went off. Never do that again!!! And he raised a hand to threaten to hit me !!! ( he gave me a black eye as a kid). Back at my new apartment he lays into my eating choices yet he and I ate the same things at greasy spoons of his choosing!!! Fat shaming with the threat of violence I finally told him it was best if he left my apartment (after driving 1500 miles). I feel somewhat bad for kicking him out then I hate myself for not kicking the rat in the teeth. What was I thinking that this could be the last chance to have a good memory with my dad. He's never loved me. I think he is a sociopath. I deserve a good dad. I'll never have one. Oops medical question. Can early onset alziemers (sp) cause erratic mood irritability? That is easier to accept than having a horrible human being as a dad

Growly -

I think Alzheimer's and dementia in general can both cause mood swings and irritability. Does he have a diagnosis of early onset? Because that's usually before 65.

I don't think at 70 it is considered early onset -but it could be dementia. I have represented people with dementia who could became irritable and physically aggressive with no warning.

He has not been diagnosed as far as I know. In a moment with him later I voiced a concern that this was not how I remembered him that this is new. I mentioned he may want to check it out and he threw mental illness in my face and I said fine I own that but I'm talking about dementia. He scoffs. He could just be the worst person on the planet. Just leaving room for that useless concept of loving kindness

For what it is worth, I don't know of many people who take the idea of dementia well. People deny it despite all of the evidence/dr's evaluations/ etc evidence. And people can go for awhile sort of compensating for the deficits.

My dad is a big denier of reality anyways. Irritability out of nowhere is the only symptom that is glaring to me. No forgetfulness or fearfulness. So he could just be an elderly jerk

I don't think there's a recognized course for dementia - i.e., some sufferers may first exhibit forgetfulness, some may first display uncharacteristic mood swings.

If it would help you if he were diagnosed, maybe mention your concerns to his new wife? (Not as dementia, just as "Dad doesn't seem like himself.")
Thanks for this!

That is a great idea. I may need to go through my sister to get to new wife But honestly I am so done with him in general throughout my life he has been mean spirited selfish and cruel when it suits him. He has a relationship with one of my sisters he has not alienated. She can deal with it.

Really good idea I'm just too angry to do anything but let him rot

Yeah... my son had to take his apart and make it into two separate sandwiches because it was too big to bite into. I was glad I got a picture before he took it apart!
