But really people do z just because they want to. Like nobody makes trump do whatever it is he does. Or the epi pen lady. Or whoever.

Maybe WE are more reactive than we should be. That probably makes us too predictable.
OMG exactly!! The first part - if it's my fault then I feel like I have control!!! This is what I was on the verge of realizing on Saturday at my shamanic practitioner training, during one of the journeys. I couldn't quite grasp what I was realizing - but that is IT! If I blame myself, if it's my fault, then I feel like I have control.

Thank you for that.

Do you even know how flipping FREE I would be, if I could once and for all correct that faulty thinking?!

And, a random btw, what did the epi pen lady do? and who is the epi pen lady?

Shes overcharging for the epi pen. Like that kid who bought the pharmacy company and increased the price of one drug so high?

T used to call me hankipedia - im like the vaguest but widest encyclopedia ever.

Accent on wide, unfortunately.

Ah. I work for a pharmacy, I should have known that. (I suppose that's the reason why I never sell any, because no one can afford them.)

Yes, felt that for years. For me, it was definitely depression.

I'm already feeling disheartened by the attitudes of some of the therapy tutors. I think I have learned more on this site about how boundaries should work in a therapy relationship than they could teach me. They seem to have very rigid and occasionally punitive attitudes towards clients.
Thanks for this!

No, I'm not ok. But I'll live so I guess I am ok in every way that counts.

I could use sympathy. Sorry if TMI. I had terrible constipation for 5 days after surgery with general anesthesia. I know that's normal. Now I have diarrhea. I'm so miserable! I'm not on any pain meds anymore. Surgery messed up my digestive system! Anyone relate?

If you've been on any kinds of pain meds, they are rather notorious for messing with digestion. The good news is that it will straighten itself out in time. Sorry you are feeling badly. It can take a good 6 weeks to truly recover from surgery. Hang in there.

Simultaneously feeling chagrined at myself and rather chuffed about my last session.

I quoted a line from e.e.cummings a trifle incorrectly in my last session -- just realized (after days) that when T repeated it, she quoted the correct version.

I realized thi morning in t what excellent advice this was - to give to MYSELF! let me see if i can get it back. Oh yeah - like it was my fault that i get pooped out and strained carrying heavy groceries back to my apartment and nobody offers to help me, they just think, look at that fatty, if she wasnt so fat, the bags wouldnt be so heavy and it wouldnt be so hard, and if the bags werent so heavy she wouldnt be so fat! Right?

So its my fault, so i have control, but t noted i never do anything to change the situation, like bring cart, or take a taxi - i just stew in my own juice, and whine that i strained my back, so oh crap i cant exercise and lose weight so i dont have this problem? Duh.

Hope anybody who's being affected by Matthew is safe!! The company I work for has 2 call centers in the path of the hurricane, so they are closed, and the rest of us in other areas are working overtime. An hour today, 2 hours tomorrow, 8 hours Saturday, 2 hours monday. Extra money but I'm gonna be tired!! I have to be in at 5 am tomorrow, Saturday, and Monday so far. That will be interesting, because I find it difficult to be coherent before 6 am and am only marginally coherent even then. I will be happy when I see the resulting paycheck, 13 hours at overtime pay will be awesome.
