I thought it was interesting that the first thing he started shooting his mouth off about was about improving the countrys infrastructure. Roads, bridges. Thats a Democratic thing! Honestly, i think he said what he had to in order to get elected, but hes gonna do what he wants.

I've got two appomtments with potential No. 4's. One got called just by virtue of having a sepia picture of mountains and mesas covered with snow on her website. Different.

The man is a predator and psychopath. I liken this to an abusive family where the so called "good" parent looks the other way because they are getting something out of the situation (perceived financial stability, for example). But they are complicit in the abuse.

Huh, I thought this might be a nice relaxing place to visit between classes and cheer myself up, but apparently not.

I am all puffed up because I successfully changed a broken thermostat and have gotten the heat on at last. I cannot believe thanksgiving is in two weeks. I have my group's gathering at my house each year (we all take different holidays) and at some point I should start planning and dusting

I'm sure the animals are grateful to you.

New cat met a vacuum cleaner for the first time last night. New cat is able to jump backwards about two feet at a time, five jumps in a row. Ah, youth.
Thanks for this!

Heat is good. We returned from Spain and found that the weather had got a bit colder while we were away and although all radiators were on it was only about 16°C indoors (sorry, you will have to convert that to F because I'm too zonked at the moment.) We don't have any kind of thermostat or central unit for adjusting the temperature, we just have to adjust each radiator.

Also, there is snow. Only about a foot right now, but it's snowing at the moment so we'll see how much we'll get. I hope it will stay! Slush in November is a bit depressing, but snow is great.

Awwww. To be fair, though, very few things are as scary as a vacuum cleaner (if you are a cat).

My cat does not mind the vacuum but my middle dog goes berserk and tries to bite it. The other two just stand behind me and bark (I have not got the brave protecting sorts of dogs - they hide behind me at the first hint of danger). Therefore I only vacuum when the dogs are outside. The cat just lays on the couch and blinks at me.
My house had gotten down to 64 and the space heater wasn't cutting it anymore. I have one heavy coated dog who will now spend most of his time sleeping next to my badly sealed front door. The older dog and cat will be happy and young dog seems pretty much willing to go with whatever as long as there are snacks.

That's why they got rid of Agnew before they started on Nixon.

I think we need a no politics resting room for people like me who can't stand all the backlash from the election. I am not sure why but it makes me feel unsafe. Guess I need to take a break from here too until it all dies down, I already had to bow out of Facebook cuz of it.

Or maybe we just shouldn't discuss politics...there are other ways to do that on this site. Or do it differently.

The site provides other areas to discuss politics.
I have been avoiding here because I don't want to keep reading about it.

I started reading a book today, number three in a series, and was startled by the appearance of Crocus the robot. Which was silly of me because I took this username from the first book in the series, and I certainly had not forgotten that that's what I did, but when he appeared it was still a surprise to me. (I blame my fuzzy flu brain.) He has done some cool things between books 2 and 3, apparently. Yay Crocus!

[edited to add: ok, now Crocus is writing his autobiography. This could get odd.]

Ow. I hurt. Had a fall down a flight of concrete steps today. Landed on my chin. I'm lucky I didn't do more damage but I hurt my neck, legs and grazed my chin. It felt like a metaphor for my life.

Speaking of books, earlier today I was reading Gerald Durrell's Birds, Beasts, and Relatives and came upon this description of his three dogs when out with him in a boat and encountering dolphins - something made me think of stopdog's four legged friends... (I hope it's legible?)

I had a friend be kind to me today, which helped also. I still want my T to come and help me pick out a band aid. I think I am feeling young again.

I read all of Gerald Durrell - my favorite was My Family and Other Animals -it was the first of his I ever read and I got it on the dime table at the library sale when I was 10. It makes me laugh out loud every time I read it.

I have been taping, but have not yet watched, the masterpiece theatre episodes based on it.

Oooo. I fell down my front steps a couple of months ago. I know how you feel. Hope all you suffer from is a grazed chin.
