That was not easy to say!! But we discussed it and came up with the half-sessions thing as a way to go more often for the same cost (since I pay out of pocket). It worked, too. I'm thankfully over the recent bout of neediness but it is hard while it's in full force. I do not like it one bit. Seems a little counter intuitive I guess, I mean she's awesome and I love her and she's helped me SO much... but at the same time I do not want to NEED her. Sorry now I am rambling.
No thats ok. I fully understand. I was trying to talk to t about coming weekly instead of fortnightly when I can afford it, but I felt some hesitation from him so to get in first I said that maybe weekly wouldn't work as it takes so long to process my sessions. I couldn't bear to hear im reject the idea. I may try someting like you later.
Thanks for te spaghetti.

There is nowhere near enough space on No. 4(a)'s forms to explain thoroughly why I'm seeking therapy.

Maybe I should make a power point.

Just put "crazy". The two of you can work out the details later.

yeah... I hear ya. it's so much easier that first time before you've ever HAD any therapy! awhile back i mentioned to my t that i didn't even remember what her forms and stuff even said from when i filled them out in the beginning. i told her i read them and answered the questions, but i was so nervous i didn't retain any of it. so she gave me her current disclosures/policies and new client form, so i filled it out again, and re-wrote my answers over and over again and ended up giving her more than one copy haha because yeah there's not enough space. And this is for a t who already knows me! i can't imagine trying to explain to a new t at this point.

If you do a power point, you could use emojis.

Some of my history is life events, some is diagnoses. Ts always seem to be interested in my 3 psychiatric hospitalizations. I like the emoji idea too.

Okay, who wants to pocket ride with me to No. 4(a) at 6 pm EDT?

My freezer is full of ice cream and my cupboards are full of cookies after the past two weeks of stress-eating. You all are free to indulge!

Dibs on the salted caramel milanos if there are any left. Virtual ones have no calories, tight? Irl im gonna have a hard boiled egg. Well and maybe a coffee. And a cigarette.

Its EST, not EDT. Unless youre in newfoundland or stg.

Darn, I *knew* EDT sounded off. Maybe I just want spring to come.

Salted caramel milanos are gone, but there are lemon ones if you like. Also mint.

And I'm about to have a hard-boiled egg too -

I am in, Atat. I hope your appt goes well.

If she says anything stupid I will helpfully throw food at her from the confines of your pocket.

Mint chocolate, chocolate peanut butter, vanilla, chocolate, mayan chocolate, brownies and cream, snickers ice cream bar, cookies and cream, those little cones with vanilla dipped in chocolate? Your choice.

I'll be sending good thoughts, @@.

(I don't much like the idea of being in someone's pocket, even virtually, no way to get out of the easily, sorry.)

I finally got the courage to ring my doctor and ask her to squeeze me in. I just got so desparate I thought what have I got to lose. Plus my t sees just about everything as a medication problem. But I remember an article saying that bipolar anxiety is different to ordinary anxiety and needs meds.

Well...not sure.

Pros:
* easily the only therapist I've met with a sense of style. Also the kind of legs I've always wanted.
* did not have a copy of Hold Me Tight, the EFT bible. Instead all the books on her bookcase were very serious sounding. And in multiple languages.
* understood what a university teaching job requires
* did not do anything that might have necessitated the throwing of food at her (sorry, guys).

Cons:
* quizzed me on the limits of therapeutic confidentiality: "do you remember what the exceptions are?" I almost laughed in her face.
* wanted to shake hands. Asked to see the last cut I did (about a month ago). Then ran her finger up and down the scar without warning.
* you could see the empathic mask sliding into place
* can't read her notes upside-down because they're in Japanese
* has a heavy accent that makes her difficult to understand. Had to ask her to repeat multiple times, and eventually just started agreeing with whatever I couldn't make out (cause that won't cause problems ). Concentrating so hard on what she was saying made me very sleepy and headachey halfway through.
* told me how sensitive she is about her accent.

I don't think she's a keeper, but I made another appointment on the grounds that as a temporary stopgap while I keep on looking she might be OK. I can always cancel it.

Now...did you guys leave me any ice cream?

Some other stuff as well but this would be the serious deal-breaker for me.
