I'm feeling like I'm becoming almost obsessive lately with looking up my former T1 and T2. I've looked them both up on Facebook, LinkedIn and just Google search them. Not too the extent of finding background information or where they live, but I did find out my old T2 works at another Community mental health center in my state. I feel guilly for looking them up almost every day this past week. I'm guessing maybe this is because I'm without a T1 right now and my current T2 isn't too good. I am really wanting a therapist that I can connect with again but I'm scared it won't happen and I'll be left to fend for myself.

I've never really felt the urge to look up any therapists, former or current, but if you are not experiencing good therapy right now, I imagine you're looking for the connection you maybe once felt? I've never terminated with a therapist I felt a connection to, but I imagine if I did I would be doing the same thing. Definitely with my therapist now, I'd feel some need for connection with her.

I think the right therapist is out there, you just need to keep trying, as hard as it is!
Thanks for this!

SheHulk07 - I'm sorry that you're feeling disconnected, that's a really tough one to deal with. I think I understand, I have sometimes went back and looked up old Ts. Sometimes just to see what they're up to, and to sort of mentally reconnect as well.

Are you working towards finding a new T1?

I wouldn't worry too much about googling your old Ts, unless it becomes obsessive and gets in your way of getting other things done. It's all public info, and it doesn't hurt them in any way.

Good luck... I hope you can find a good new T!

Thank you. I actually got set up with another T in the office I've been going to today, but I don't see her for 3 weeks. I think that's why I've been looking them up, as a way to reconnect with a relationship that I felt safe and supported in. I don't have that out in the "real" world.
