Tomorrow's appointment looms.

Haven't seen him in 3 weeks.

Last night I had a dream that he was driving a bus and when i got on he told me he wasn't going where I needed to go. So he left me standing in the street with all my packages.

OMG I am so freaked out about tomorrow. What if it's the end? Then what?

I am completely freaked out

(((( sister ))))

I think your dream is your fear that somehow he's changed during his time away... kind of a last minute ploy by your mind to scare you. Now that you know he's back and you've connected, the dream recalls the abandonment and finds a way to bring it back up.

I have so many bus dreams like that. I wonder if it's a not-uncommon theme?

hugs, hang in there--you're in the home stretch!

((((sister)))) You will see him soon, it will be OK.

Bus dreams--I had one once where my T was the driver of a bus and he hit my car in a parking lot. I was standing there watching him smash right into my car. It left some big dents.

Wow....who knew bus dreams were common? I've never heard of that before. I don't think I've ever had a dream with my T in it or about therapy. I can't imagine her driving a bus! Sister, I think your dream was interesting. Are you going to share it with your T?

Thanks Winter,Sunny,Echoes,Lemon

I didn't know bus dreams were common either!!

Echoes, I hope you are right about the last minute mind games. I just keep turning over yesterday's conversation and each time I do I find something else wrong that I said or some clue to his dissatisfaction with the relationship. I've never had these feelings before.

Sunny, your bus dream made me smile.

Lemon, if I don't throw up during session (another fantasy I have) I might be able to tell him the dream. I picture him telling me he can't see me anymore because I am tooo needy and me excusing myself to go puke. Ahhhhh geee, I'm off the deep end.

I'm truly in a panic right now. I'm going to try and sleep. I have a long day at work before I see T. Huge sigh.

Thanks all.

Peace Sister... Hope tomorrow goes well for you. I do not recall having any bus dreams but I think that we all (or I do) have thoughts about wondering if things are going well. Not all bus rides are comfy and sometimes we look along the way to make sure we are going where we need to go.

Are YOU having any doubts about HIM?

Good luck at your session tomorrow Sister.

On a side note, isn't it funny how on this board we often wish each other luck for an upcoming session? As if luck has anything to do with it, haha

I hope you plan on sharing your dream with him-- do you? I usually open the session with a dream, helps me to "go" somewhere... I'm often lost at the beginning of a session.

I completely understand your fears of abandonment. It goes along with the "Therapist? What therapist?" stage of separation.... and I believe that until you are actively involved in tomorrow's session, that fear will be with you. I have the exact same one... Like even though I know now that my T is back, our working relationship has faded out and it can't be real until I'm actually there with him.

I wish object constancy was something I could buy on sale at the store. It would make things a lot easier.

Have a great session tomorrow. I hope you will let us know how it went.
