Ah, At the Bottom of Everything is amaaazing... that moment where it kicks in after the intro, omg. Makes my heart explode.

I actually don't know much more of his stuff either - like I said I'm loving the new album, though. If you follow LT's link it's all up on youtube.

The idea that one would be envious of someone else's therapist is ludicrous to me. I have not ever read of a therapy situation I thought was better than what I do with those people.

I don't think I envy other people's therapists.

I do, however, sometimes envy other people's cats.

Eating lots of icecream and binge watching BtWS. Well, it's not the worst birthday I can remember, and if it is not the best one, it's only my own doing.

oliver sacks visited the treatment program i was in. they had a close relationship. he endorsed it... there are major problems with their business now though...and it is outrageously expensive and not covered by insurance. its "non profit"... the ideology of their community was good, but the bigwigs at top ruined all of that.

the PhD that created their 'recovery model' left when my therapist left, and they co-founded his practice he is in now

Yeah, he writes beautifully about addiction. I basically lost a few years of my life to alcohol and drugs, some of his lyrics really speak to me about that experience. I don't actually know where he's at now either - maybe wishful thinking on my part that he's any better!

That's a real shame - so much that is good ends up being ruined by 'bigwigs at the top' If Oliver Sacks thought it was good then I believe it must have been!

Just a little bit annoyed with my primary health care people. I wrote a week ago to get an appointment to take my stitches out. I think I'll do it myself tomorrow if I don't hear from them by then. (I might ask my T's advice first though. I have to see him tomorrow morning - I do not want to, but at least I have something neutral to talk about, in the shape of my stitches.)

I tell my t about 75% of my dear T posts. A few I just said that I talked about x on the forum and others just include them in my journal. Some, well, the ones that are basically just attachment focused. Those I keep to me, PC, and the ether I send it out to.

Sounds like my experience seeing Ryan Adams about 12 years ago when he was really drugged out. He kept stopping halfway through songs, storming off stage, yelling at the crowd, being upset that the air conditioning was on because it was too loud. Then I saw him a few years later when he was sober and it was actually rather boring. Like he did all the songs pretty slow (even ones that are normally faster), didn't talk much, made me feel sleepy. I'm seeing him again in a few months (really like his new album, Prisoner, mostly about his divorce from Mandy Moore) and hoping it will be a happy medium between the two!

That would be brave! But also great, because it would show you weren't too scared to show him, that you really do trust him.

I've copied and pasted my posts here into e-mails before (well, and changed things like "MC" and "H" to their actual names).

I seriously almost signed an actual e-mail to MC today "Love, LT." Which would have terribly confused him--assuming he even noticed!
