Not at all! My frustration is with other threads and hostility toward therapy when someone is struggling to process what their therapist means or is doing. If someone has an axe to grind, that's fine on their own thread, but those are really vulnerable times and it's hard to see the worst interpretations of someone who is far removed from the situation and who may have their own very different reasons for hating therapists and therapy.

Also, I am sensitive to how negativity is winning in the world right now and if someone has a therapist, maybe that's all they have to hang onto that's good, even if others think it's crap.

I don't think everyone always agrees on what constitutes negative or not. I also think that a variety of ideas maybe useful. An OP can always ask for what they want in terms of responses or types.

Oh, you're my Louis Wain cat icon buddy now eh? I love it! I went to an exhibition of Louis Wain pictures a few years ago, it was amazing.

ETA: omg, I love seeing our two vaguely paranoid looking cats together 'cos I posted after you... it's wonderful! There's clearly something weird going on to the left of the screen...

Between that and una having seekrit meetings with the Russian ambassador, we're gonna attract attention from certain alphabet-soup agencies!

Eta: also for maximum effect it needs to be Putin with his shirt off holding a puppy.

Better by inches. It's going to be a tough couple of days-weeks. Things are messed up again in my head. I'm not so despondent this morning as yesterday. I can't figure out who I am, what I want out of life... and such.

I know I don't have to solve these things right now... today. Just leaves me feeling disconnected from everything.

(((Ruhroh))) sometimes "STOP IT!" is the only thing that works on me. Its sooooo embarrassing. Its beyond embarrassing. It cant even see embarrassing in the okay you get the idea!

I havent figured it out, skies said something about it once. Maybe it has to do with lack of emotional regulation?

I.e., if we lacked emotional regulation growing up, and just dissociated, then in the present when we are in a difficult dilemma, we DONT dissociate per se but get caught up in some weird disregulated loop.

Until Cher comes along and slaps us and says "Snap out of it!" So many good scenes in Moonlight? But that one was memorable yet kinda harsh.

Thanks Trail for the beautiful picture!! I think I'll go take one in my backyard happy place to share too! And I like the idea of the checked-off list. May I steal that idea too?

And I'll take one of those hugs you're offering, and offer one back!

A la Trail's idea:

Last load of laundry in drier. check

Sausages cooking on grill. check

Pasta on the stove. check

When I come back in from checking on the sausages, I'll have a picture from my backyard!

I love this idea, Trail. Helps me feel like I'm accomplishing something today.

Please share a picture Art! You live in Arizona. Is that right? I've never been there but I'd love to visit there one day. I love dry heat. I bet it's much different there in the summer than it is here with the humidity factor.
