I couldn't agree more with you regarding the integration of Buddhism and psychotherapy. There are a range of Buddhist inspired practices to alleviate mental suffering. I am right there with you when you say that accepting that would be tremendously helpful. It's fascinating to me for sure.
Thanks for this!

I just realized that after more than a year of working on it, I'm no longer afraid of my own feelings. Maybe that's because they're less intense than they used to be. Anyway, I am still terrified of other people's feelings.

Me too, as far as being terrified of other people's feelings. That was on my mind today.

I was wondering if I was afraid to voice my feelings because it would hurt their feelings or that I was afraid of the reaction that it would cause.

Can't sleep couch. Sing me a lullaby? Chamomile tea? Read til your eyes are gritty and watery? Close your eyes and think of the queen? (Snort!)

Took nighttime cold medicine which keeps me awake, then daytime cold medicine should put me to sleep, but somehow it never does unless the sun is up. Grrr. Did someone park an elephant on my face?

To make this day more exciting than you could possibly imagine, my chance at a promotion just increased to two (possible) positions opening in the next year, both of which I am highly recommended for and have been heavily cross-training for. If all the planets are in alignment and the ban on hiring stays in place they have no option but to promote from within. Cautiously optimistic I might be!

Rock-a-bye baby
in the tree top
When the wind blows
The cradle will rock...

And then we get to the part that doesn't seem lullaby-ish at all...

Thanks for this!

Hopping into your pocket for an extended nap. I can't sleep over here because it's too hot

I'm in! And I'll be awake. I can watch over the sleeping couchies then, not that one of them sleep walks out of your pocket

I have a silly question, but I need opinions...T was playing with his wedding ring during whole session. He even took it off! He has never done anything "automatic" before, he always was calm and concentrated. And when I was, for example, shaking my leg, he always asked something like "do you realize it?". And now he was doing "automatic thing" himself :/

What does it mean? Was he nervous or bored? I know I'm overthinking..

I know I tend to play with jewelry, my hair, etc. when I'm nervous, whether in therapy or elsewhere. I doubt he was bored--more likely either nervous or like had too much caffeine or something and needed to move. And I don't think there's necessarily anything symbolic about playing with his wedding ring, if that's what you're wondering--I've just played with mine because it was there! Though I always worry it will look symbolic if I'm doing that in marriage counseling.
Thanks for this!

I'm so lame. I was supposed to go to a yoga class, but had a panic attack on the way there (partly heat-related, partly "I can't deal with a room full of strangers right now") and turned around and came home. H will be very disappointed in me... But I'm doing to do a yoga DVD at home later today.

Sometimes you have to know when there's a time to push yourself, and a time to retreat to the safety of home! I'm like that too somtimes. I hope you feel better now.

I don't think it would be rude, in my opinion, you can phrase it politely?
I think if it was me I would say something like "You seemed upset or nervous in our last session, I was a bit worried wondering if everything was OK."
If I said that my T would not be surprised AT ALL, I am always getting worried thinking that people are going to be angry with me!
Thanks for this!
