Thats the great thing about this place. Theres always somebody awake, theres always somebody asleep. But then again, the cat IS my spirit animal. Unless theres something that sleeps more?
Thanks for this!

A sloth, perhaps? Not sure.

So I'm starting to get anxiety about this week. Tuesday I am going on a field trip with my 8th graders, and I have to be at school by 6am. I live an hour away from my school, so there's no way I'd be able to get enough sleep and get to school on time. So I'm staying closer to school tomorrow night with a coworker. I need to pack my overnight bag. I hate sleeping away from H. I don't want to go on this field trip.

Seriously, H was going to make some food for D and there was extra trash to take out. I offered to take it out. It was like I'd offered to torture him.

My swim was quite refreshing! And for good measure I soaked in the hot tub briefly as well. Now I am all relaxed and gumby.

Apparently, he wants me to do one thing (put some clothes away), and if I offer to do the rest, I'm offending him. And he refuses to have the conversation now.

Sorry, LT. My h gets weird about stuff like that too. He has said before, that he feels like I think he can't do things right so he just doesn't do them at all. But I don't just think on some things - I know he doesn't - for example if he does laundry, he washes EVERYTHING on the hottest setting. So I told him to please let me handle the laundry...

LT - you offered to do something again after the earlier episode? Just leave him be until you guys have the conversation about it tomorrow with MC, is my advice.

Maybe you guys should just strictly identify whose chore is whose. He does anything that needs taking out, you do the putting clothes away.
Thanks for this!

My h and I have found a rhythm at least with the laundry (I wash/dry and fold it, and he puts it away) and the dishwasher (he unloads it, I load it). And whoever sees that the trash is full takes it out (son helps with that one). However, I seem to be the only one who lives here that can see that the floors need to be mopped....

I know my H gets really aggravated if I offer to do something that he said he'll do. I nag about how he doesn't help out around the house much, so if he says he is going to do something, he will get livid if I try to do it. I just wish that he had more urgency in our houses upkeep. We do have chores that are the sole responsibility of the other, too. He takes out trash, I do the dishes.

If you did indeed offer after the confrontation earlier, I'd leave it alone, LT.
Thanks for this!

I had my first day off in...... idk, a good handful of weeks at least? And my first weekend-day off in several months probably

-I stayed in bed til noon

-I took myself out for brunch at my favorite restaurant and had multiple fancy drinks and serrano ham which I love because it's like chewing on funky meat flavored gum

-I took a walk and sunbathed

-I..... finally tucked into that spreadsheet.... but at a cafe!

-I was a good mommy and washed a few months' worth of city-goo off the leaves of my houseplants

-Read a crazy --er talked about sportsball, yup

-Might go for a run now that my back is starting to feel better? Might.

Wow. The roles were reversed with H and I frequently he would go off about the rubbish being taken out but I just hadn't gotten round to it. It is not going anywhere and I could see his point if I had waited a day before taking out but honestly a couple of hours?? I must add living in the tropical heat any waste that was going to smell went into a special freezer

Tomorrow I am going in for Neuropsych testing to finally figure out if I have a language based learning disability or not. 4 hours of testing then a 2 hour break, then T. I'm kind of nervous about the testing. It would be so much easier for me emotionally if they come up with something. My guess is good old fashion dyslexia; however, I think there is something going on with the spoken word too and I don't think that is part of dyslexia.

Sigh, I so hope there is something noticeable.

With T, we have to talk about her vacation. Inside, I don't wanna.. and yeah at that age level. As if not talking about it will prevent it from happening. I still don't know what I am going to do while she is gone to help me stay connected to her and yet not become too emotional because she is not there. It would be easy to just cut that part off and close down - put my head down and move through life. That is what I am trying not to do.

So, OK, I confronted him about it. (After announcing I'd put the clothes away, which I did). Taking out a bag of trash was apparently too minor of a thing, so what difference would it make? He said if I could make D's lunch for tomorrow that would be helpful, so I'll do that.

Will still likely talk about it tomorrow...

And thanks for all the comments/advice!

Don't be nervous about testing! The battery for learning disabilities isn't terribly difficult, but it is somewhat tedious. That is assuming that your neuropsych uses similar tests to what I'd use. If you need help understanding the results once you get them, feel free to send me a PM!
Thanks for this!
