But, what if I don't do well with sharing?

Will you set up a proper, neatly defined and codified hierarchy (specifying time periods, major events, nature of unexpected circumstances etc)?

Coz I also don't do well with uncertainty.

P.S. I tried having an open relationship once -- it was.....a disaster, to put it mildly. I really haven't grown up beyond kindergarten when it comes to sharing, is all I learnt. So, I am super much in awe of people who've managed to make it work.

Not only will I set up a proper, neatly defined and codified hierarchy, I will do it in different color inks.

I have never had an open relationship with anyone - except on the internet - but I did know a polyamorous triple (?) in grad school that did not end well.

I will know it's true love only when you let me have first dibs on the color choices.

Watch out what you wish for. The 2nd mr luna, before we got married, wanted an open relationship. Only i think more on his side, right? Cuz when i opened MY side one night, he heard all this rattling and shaking and wind chimes (huh maybe thats why i dont like wind chimes?) and he got all upset that the earth apparently was moving in my bedroom. Except that duh we lived in california and there really was an earthquake. the gods are with me. This is one of my favorite stories about my life.

Happy Mother's Day to all the mom's out there.

Kids and I celebrated my Mother's Day last week, and it was really nice. I am really lucky they turned out to not have major psych problems and have good things going for them.

Today I managed to email my mother. She's chilled out over the years, so it was ok. A few years ago, I remember having annihilation anxiety about putting a mother's day card in her mailbox (as I couldn't see her). I nearly had a breakdown. The year after that, I took her somewhere for Mother's Day and had a nightmare that she was a monster, it was horrid. That was when stuff we going through in therapy was really raw, working through stuff for the first time. Now it's a lower level of anxiety.

Wanted to wish you all well. I am very anxious around this day and distractions are helpful.

Therapy helps us be better Mom's, I think, for sure. Wish I had done it years and years ago.

There are wind chimes that are hand tuned to produce harmonious sounds. I gave first ex a set once, they were quite pleasant to listen to.

It is the randomness of the sound that bothers me.

But the randomness is caused by the wind, not the chimes.

I would rather listen to wind chimes than small yappy dogs with big voices, who start up just as randomly.

To me, all wind chimes sound like random plinking and I think it is horrible - I just don't like wind chimes.
I am not that keen on yappy little dogs either -but that is not as bad to me as wind chimes.

Or Dr. Suess Green Eggs and Ham - except for the part where he likes them at the end.
All of dr suess ends badly for me - the grinch has his heart grow, the cat and the hat gets away with terrorizing the fish, etc

((granite))

I had a friend send this to me today, given everything that is going on with my bio mom. I thought it might be apt for some other people.

Here's a pic of me with my son earlier today. I'm so lucky to be the mom of such a wonderful young man! I love him so much.

I'm pooped. The house is clean and presentable for company. I have the food ready for the bridesmaid's luncheon I am hosting tomorrow. All the suits have been picked up from the tuxedo place. I think the only thing left wedding-wise today is I need to help be sure music is ready to hand over to the tech guy tomorrow (don't get me started on why we are just being sure this is ready now). My sister's plane gets in late tonight, so it will be a late night tonight and we hit the ground running tomorrow morning.

I called Mom and wished her a Happy Mother's Day. I doubt that she remembers though; her short-term memory has gotten really bad. I was PMing with one of my cousins, and they are in the same place with their mom right now. Those two women reared the six of us very much together back in the 50's and 60's. Both fantastic mothers; strong women who knew how to keep a family going. Very hard to see them both declining at the same time.

Tomorrow night it my son's last high school choir concert. He's ready to be done with high school and move on to college. All of his AP tests are over now, so he's kind of twiddling his thumbs at school. Come to think of it, I'm just about in that spot in my own classroom. Definitely on the downswing: officially 13 more days of school (three of which I am missing this week because of the wedding -- darn!).

Thank you! We went out and ate this afternoon with my son and his family. This is my DILs first Mothers Day. Their little one is 3 weeks old. It's was a lot of fun and I feel blessed.

I didn't get a picture of me and my boys. They were not feeling it. My DIL asked for a picture of us. I love her dearly!
