For birthdays, it's nice getting all the birthday wishes on Facebook and from friends and family. But I hate planning things, so I sometimes have a dinner with friends, other times (like this year) don't bother. Plus last year's gathering didn't go so well. And with this year being a milestone (40), it wasn't one I wanted to focus on--just wanted to go hide under a blanket somewhere.
Thanks for this!

Oh God, I just almost signed an e-mail "LT" It wasn't to my T or MC and nothing work-related, just a customer service thing. But still that would have seemed really random!

What are you going to look at with your binoculars, LoTT? I've been thinking about getting some for myself recently.

Alas and alack, no, no, no, say it ain't so? (I now feel like I need to star in a queer brown version of Legally Blonde to win your affections.)

The imperial overlord accent just makes it....hotter We consider ourselves superior to the overlords only when it comes to showering frequency (at least those of us who have indoor plumbing) and well, food.

Haha...I might've explained. There's a public garden fairly near me with a wildlife hide, and an impressive array of avian visitors. Last time I was there, I saw a beautiful woodpecker. There's a decent chance of seal watching, too. (Not at the same place, obviously.)

So in your version of Legally Blonde, she ends up with...the hairdresser? The fiancee? Holland Taylor? (Whom I might actually have a little crush on. )

Is there a nation that is not superior to your (actually I guess our) former imperial overlords when it comes to food?

I'll cook for you - so long as it involves eggs, cheese, and an (optional) protein of the meat variety it usually comes out pretty good.
Thanks for this!

Ah, that's wonderful! I heard a woodpecker (hard not to hear them, haha) on my last walk in the woods but I didn't manage to spot him. Binoculars would have helped with that!

I did see a kingfisher when I was in Weymouth in December though (through borrowed binoculars!)... that was amazing. They're like tiny sparkling jewels, with the most incredible coloured feathers.

I'd love to do some seal-watching. They have actually been spotted before off the coast of Brighton, I'm not holding out too much hope for that though!
Thanks for this!

Toby pooped and peed on my roommates bed.. He's never ever gone outside of his litterbox.. I know that's abnormal for him and probably a sign that something's wrong.. I'm freaked out and worried because I'm leaving out of the state for a week tomorrow. Also vet bills are expensive. Uhhhhhh wtf.. Sad panda

If that's the only thing that's abnormal, I'm sure he's fine. Is he eating/drinking okay? clear-eyed? Honestly, I think sometimes cats go outside the box because they like a change in scenery. That or the box is offensive to them. I know my cat will go in the box about one time before she's like, "Nope, not going there any more - it's stinky."

I hope your trip goes well.

I remember what M said yesterday about what processing means.

He said that "processing" a trauma involves the completion of an emotion, verbalization, or physical action that we wanted to make at the time of the trauma but could not. When we give completion and validation to these actions and thoughts in therapy, we can unwind the trauma and free ourselves from the psychological and somatic effects of it trapping us in time. That is what he means when he says "processing."

I am not sure anyone is interested. But it's important to me and I don't want to forget again.

That is really interesting, Anais. Thank you.

I often have that same thing where my T says something important, and my brain just blocks it completely. I can remember asking him a question, or I remember him saying the lead up to something, and then... nothing. Like, as soon as I've left the room. Nothing. It's really weird. Like you have, though, I sometimes remember it a few days afterwards.

Same here. I think it especially happens when I'm emotional at the time.
