When I did my science degree years ago it was recommended we learn Latin or French or German as they were the international languages of science, ie most papers were published in these languages, although Latin was getting a bit tired around then
Thanks for this!

Couldn't you just have added a translation under the latin?

Call me an unrepentant Augustinian, but my therapist has to move her lips when she reads. Not joking.

Do you mean when she reads English or Latin?
I don't think that is all that unusual if someone is reading something in front of someone else - it is like they are reading and talking at the same time.

I don't ask therapists to read Latin until at least 9 months into the relationship.

On the other hand, she did understand an allusion to Hamlet. So she's got that going for her.

I thought about it. I tried it out and it just looked sad and clunky to me.

If we're gonna go all the way, to get the combinatoriality thing there would need to be six total in headstand and six total standing. But they could be in any order as long as after the first six, the second six are opposite

Example: ii!!i! i!ii!!

My mom can one-up this easily-- when you talk to her, she mouths the words you're saying back at you

Trippy stuff

Hmm that is interesting- I have no idea. But she hasn't always done it, I haven't seen her in a while and she started doing it maybe five years ago

Mine has to.....read aloud. And, then falter at the word 'profferred' (yes, I prefer to use British legalese when writing long letters lambasting my therapists).

This has nothing to do with therapists, but I have been wondering lately if my father knows that "automagically" is not a real word.

As in "The ruby red slippers automagically took Dorothy back to Kansas"? I like it.

Like that, but much less creative (in dad-speak). More like,"Dorothy's mortgage payment was automagically drafted from her bank account."

Hi, couch. Just popping in to say I am still alive.

Tomorrow is the last day of school, summer is here. Then I will get to see C several mornings for a week and a half until he has camp. C is fun. I feel old...he graduated this year...I guess can no longer call him a "kid" as he is 18 and out of high school. Lol. Nah...he's still a kid to me. Next school year, he will transition into the vocational and life skills adult training program the school board offers to students like him until he is 23. So, yes...he is still a kid.

Last Friday, I spent my lunch calling other CVS stores that I would not mind taking the drive to, to say that summer was starting and requesting to be placed on their call out list for when they need help. I got an offer immediately on one of the calls for a shift tomorrow, which I had to turn down due to still having school job. I did get a call from a store yesterday though asking if I was available June 1st in the evening. I was, so I took that shift. I got a call today asking if I was available Saturday for even half a day because they were desperate for help. I had already told a co-worker at my store that I would cover their shift since they were scheduled after requesting it off...but that is only 10-2. I told the guy calling that. The store he is calling from is about 10 minutes away from my store, and he asked if I would be interested in heading to his store after I was done at my store till closing. I need the hours, so I said yes. Looks like I will easily find hours at other stores again this summer...good....I need at least 30 hours a week to survive this summer and due to corporate cut-backs, I know I can not get that many at my store consistently. I got a text tonight from a pharmacist that fills in at our store sometimes asking if I was available June 4th for a 10-7 shift at a extended-hour store. It is about an hour away from where I live (so it was not one of the stores I called on my own), but the pharm who texted me knew I was on summer then and looking for hours. I was off from my store that day and only had 20 hours scheduled there, so I decided for a shift that long an hour drive is worth it. I am getting hours, yay! Even if it is at various stores.

Insomnia poll: do you have a dishwasher? Do you love/hate/have no strong feelings about it?

I don't have one, have never had one, really hate washing dishes, and would probably love to have one. However I don't think I'll install one because my kitchen is minuscule and there's no place to put it!

My curiosity is boundless.
