I went on a tinder-enabled trampage a year ir two ago, for a few months

I only wanted to hook up (and was crystal clear about this) but I got a lot of pushback from folks wanting to get all romantic and datey. It was weird. They all wanted full in-depth explanations on why on earth I wouldn't want to date them.

It was fun and met some talented people but the end I sort of creeped myself out by how business-like it was.

You are lovely, JD... and I like the choker (though in fairness in those pictures it more resembles a dog collar, haha...)

Hello couch. Good session today after two weeks off. I'm high on love for T right now. Like, properly high, I was grinding my teeth on the way home...

Drug testing is about liability and risk. If you show up high - then you could get hurt or hurt someone else depending upon the type of job. There is also the idea that you are more prone to stealing/crimes of that sort in order to fund the use. And then there is the concern over acquaintances. I don't know how many people I represented whose friends got them to break into the burger king where they worked in order to engage in not uncriminal activity.

I was so anxious for my last appt with Dr. Dishy, ethical psychiatrist, that I showed up 24 hours early.

Fortunately he had an opening right then.

Question - I submitted one of those contact us forms for potential new/2nd T on Thursday. I didn't really get any kind of confirmation window that the form was processed. How long do I wait for a response before I either resubmit my questions or call their office?

I think a marijuana smoker is about as likely to steal from their job to fund their smoking habit as a collector of hedgehog ornaments is to fund their collection.

But then obviously I would never employ a hedgehog collector. You can't trust 'em.

It rarely has anything to do with an individual or even an individual drug. Again it's about bigger risk and liability. There is no reason you have to agree with it, but as an attorney I would certainly recommend to my clients that they do drug testing and not hire anyone that has drugs showing up. In any sort of a lawsuit with an employee if drugs were present in their system at any time and the employer knew about the employee's propensity -it would not fare well, in any number of situations, for that employer. I have nothing against any drug did anyone wants to use, but I would still advise my clients who are looking to limit risk and liability to test for it and to not hire those who tested positive

I cut the bejeesus out of the tip of my thumb this morning when cutting up old dog's pills. The Band-Aid is having an adverse effect on my typing on the iPad. If I take the Band-Aid off I bleed everywhere. Thumbs are gory little digits.

Sure, employers can and will be picky about who they employ. If it's safer for them not to employ drug-users in general then unfortunately they're going to miss out on a bunch of great employees (like JD), but it'll still be better for them in general. I get it.

That's why I won't employ hedgehog collectors. Yeah, some of them are okay, but it's just not worth that risk...

ETA: Sorry about your thumb. "Thumbs are gory little digits" is a totally brilliant sentence tho.

I guess my gripe about drug testing for employment is less about the drugs but that it is inequitable versus alcohol usage. Someone who shows up to work drunk is just as likely to engage in criminal activity, hurt themselves at work, etc. when compared to someone that uses drugs.

Sorry to hear about your thumb, SD. Hopefully it's not stitches worthy.

I would give it a couple more days, assuming no-one was processing applications over the weekend.

...and you might want to see how your session today goes, anyway...?

She said to let her know if I wanted to come back and talk things through and, if not, here are some references.

Which was really the most professional response possible.

Elio... id you have your session today - I hope it goes well. Your Ts vacation seems to have been really hard on you.
I agree with lucozi btw. I'd probably wait up to a week...
