Would it freak anyone else out if their therapist is also a certified medical examiner...? Or is this just me. Not Duchess, haha - that would be an image. Trying to find spouse a therapist.

My mom worked for a coroner for a while (she had no qualifications but apparently she actively assisted in autopsies) and loved it. Someone's gotta do it!

My husbands family has a few coroners. I just think therapist+coroner = creepy combo

That would be tres cool.

Of course I grew up with a mother who had bones lying around her study (and once some preserved lungs), and parents who discussed surgical procedures in detail at the dinner table...so I might not be the best judge.

Eta: and think of the advertising possibilities! "I can look inside your head...and your thoracic cavity!"

I may be in a macabre mood today. Ignore me.

I didn't even notice about the posting number... too bad I associate it with pooey toilets, disintegrating shower curtains, and multiple decades of rusty sink scum....

But hey, the sink is white now! *_*

I do actually like cleaning. It killed about an hour and a half and I didn't think even once about sad things. Just gross things, which is far less torturous. I would clean the entire thing top to bottom for the sake of not leaving a job half done except I don't want to be invasive and go through this guy's stuff... He warned me about the mess and I offered to spruce up the high-traffic areas and we'll have to leave it at that. It's a hard thing for me to sit here knowing it's not as clean as it could be but that's my own problem....

I'm seriously considering writing a story about grilldren. I just have to find a way to keep it tasteful.

Art - sorry you did not get the job.

Tasteful grilldren? I would say just pick the right audience.

I am happy the new season of People of Earth has started. I think it is very funny. The leader of the abduction group is an ex-therapist.

The grilldren can only be as tasteful as your marinade. And whether or not they were grass-fed.

Eta- there would be a bit of a language issue to overcome depending on how you plan on incorporating the term "grilldren" into the story- if at all- what is the singular? Grild? Grilldkin? Grilldrino?

Guyyyyys, I have a nickname for my T. I am going to call him T-Rex. 'Cos he's a courageous and curious dinosaur. (Actually, Argo thought of it - I am so amazingly unimaginative that even given the letter T and the idea of a dinosaur I couldn't come up with that on my own.)

I did consider ironically calling him 'Marc Bolan' because of his lack of popular music knowledge.

ANYWAY - hi couch. I'm okay. It's raining a lot today.

One of my closest friends wrote a social-justicey poem that some teenage girl stole and put on a tshirt. The shirt's gone viral in the past day with thousands of orders placed, it's been covered by trending articles on national news, etc. all without attributing my friend, who is a brilliant writer. I've watched her struggle to make it, sometimes literally starving, for years and years, waiting for the right person to notice her work. Well this is it and she gets none of it-- she's lawyered up and is demanding royalties, but none of that is going to matter to her reputation once the viral aspect blows over. None of the people who saw those words and wanted to wear them will know that she's behind them.

I'm sorry, I just need to rant. It breaks my heart. Not to mention my friend is a person of color and the thief is white and has no experience of the hurt behind the catchy phrasing. Of course she just profits from it. As usual.

I think (but don't know for absolute certain) that since it can stand as its own sentence, the end punctuation goes inside, at least in the US

I really want to get my pets one of these -but the cat would not stand a chance of getting any treat and the dogs would probably just eat the machine

I find therapist as a paid friend idea interesting -first I don't find there is anything wrong with how someone uses a therapist as long as that person finds it useful, secondly it is odd to me that sometimes it is tossed about as disparagement at someone that the tosser does not want to continue seeing a therapist, and finally - I cannot imagine being friends with the last 3 I saw more than one time because they were just not people I would want to be around. If one finds whatever one is doing with a therapist useful in any way it would seem then that one's choice to continue would make sense.

It is the idea that someone will throw the phrase out when they want someone else to stop seeing a therapist that I am wondering about.
And then I think about the use of paid companions - when women did pay for a female companion and men often used their butler or manservant or ward in such a way.

A poll shortly if I can think of way to word it that won't get me lynched.
On second thought I doubt that is possible so I shall just muse here.
