p.s. don't feel bad i'm seriously considering writing a story about a dissatisfied client who becomes a stalker and breaks into her t's house while she knows she's on vacation and moves stuff around just to freak her out.... oh and who goes for a swim in her pool just for good measure...

maybe said dissatisfied client will even skinny-dip!
I think she could even leave a gift in the pool (of the homegrown variety)

I find it pretty fun and easy when it's just the basics- meaning stuff you just need a pair of needlenose pliers, assorted findings, and wirecutters for- closing jump rings, making small wire loops to hang beads, doing those little crimpy caps on the end of ribbon and cord

But anything involving more than basic wirework, YIKES. At least for me. Nope.

If one finds whatever one is doing with a therapist useful in any way it would seem then that one's choice to continue would make sense.

It is the idea that someone will throw the phrase out when they want someone else to stop seeing a therapist that I am wondering about.
And then I think about the use of paid companions - when women did pay for a female companion and men often used their butler or manservant or ward in such a way.

A poll shortly if I can think of way to word it that won't get me lynched.
On second thought I doubt that is possible so I shall just muse here.
People view and use therapists in a huge variety of ways. I don't see that it is anyone's business but their own.

And frankly, therapists themselves can be uptight and inflexible about this. Wrongly, in my opinion.

So i got the Scaramouche story / book on my kindle account. My dad once called an evening gown i made Harlequin, now i realize after a character in the book and in italian comedy. The scaramouche story would have been popular when he was young. So this will be interesting. Also i wonder if any of my older aunts at the coming party will remember it, or any of the the younger intellectual cousins will have read it.

My whole thing with it was that I didn't realize I'd been doing it. And when h kept pointing it out, I wouldn't believe him. And now that I realize he is right, I'm a little miffed at t for not pointing it out - considering I'm paying her out of pocket $100 a session with no insurance help - you know, at least make sure I'm aware and doing it because I chose to. Well she did get me thinking about it with that last question she asked me in her 2nd to last email, when she asked "is the longing more interesting than the work?" that is what got me thinking about the whole thing in the first place (only after I'd panicked and answered the other question "I'm out"). It is an interesting topic. I just didn't like how it felt accusing when h would say it. Y'know? And none of what I have said was ever meant to indicate that someone else should not use a t for whatever they want to use them for - to each their own and all that, kumbaya - it was just how I felt about my own personal situation and I should have been more clear about that.

Artie, for me, longing was part of the work. Having worked thru it with t is what keeps my head on with the gosling, for example. Otherwise i'd still be following people home like a stray puppy. Okay, I still do, but not nearly as much as before!

Actually yes, I think I am in the same process as una was. I am in fact very pleased that I have been able to long at all. It's taken a while to get me to that point.

Y'know una, I think you're right, it probably should be part of my work - so my t really f'ing missed the boat when she asked me that question the way she did. the question sounded very accusatory to me. maybe that's just my stupid head. but i felt accused and shamed.
