It might be different once you become a colleague instead of a customer. If you work with him and get to know him first
Thanks for this!

I agree with growlycat. Focus on passing the exam... Getting a job there.. And then you can ask him for coffee. I think that is the more appropriate and productive route

I completely agree that being a colleague would make the situation different.

But, what if I never get hired there?

Then you don't get hired there. You can still give him a polite thank you card complimenting him on his professionalism without the potentially TMI stuff. It'd probably boost his mood and be positive encouragement.

I would definitely want to compliment him on being dedicated to helping people.

I can remove all of that stuff about being sad and things like that.

I'd also like to mention in there a coffee invitation even if that means having to go somewhere else for my prescriptions. I can tell him that I'd be willing to change pharmacies and that I'd really like to go out for coffee with him.

I think it would be better to keep the "thank you" separate from the coffee invite. Actually, if you're looking to work there, I'd probably avoid giving a thank you card because it could look like you're doing it just to get a job (even though you aren't). And avoid the coffee invite.

I probably can't get a job there now because I failed the licensing exam today. I'm so disappointed.

You got your score already? I'm so sorry you didn't pass. But good for you for enrolling in a school thing to help before you try it again! Also, knowing the types if questions they ask will help next time. The questions won't be the same, but you havee an idea what the exam is like now... I really do hope that you get the license, it would bee a major accomplishment!

I can take it again. The first retake requires a 60 day wait. My heart just feels lost, like the wind just got knocked out of me.
Thanks for this!

At the end of the exam, it says pass or fail. Mine said fail.

No, I'd have to pay the $129 fee again.

If I complete the course that I'm signed up for, they will pay for me to retake the exam.
Thanks for this!

idk it seems like a lot of people are assuming this person might not have any interest in hope .if hope did not let him in some way how she feels how would she know .maybe he would be willing to meet her for coffee . hope i dont think you need to go into a lot of detail about your struggles and so on but maybe talk to your T about how you might appropriately approach this person .i dont see how it is unethical for a pharmacist to meet someone he knows as a customer .

I edited the letter and made the decision to give it to him. Can I mail it to the store?

Thank you! I decided that I'm going to give it to him. But I have edited it.

It's probably also my low self esteem struggling against me too.

If you decide to give him the letter, I hope you are prepared for the consequences. Make sure it is worth it to you. It could go well, sure, but he also could decide he is no longer comfortable being in the pharmacist role for you. Is that worth getting your feelings out there?
Thanks for this!

He could force me to leave that pharmacy?

What are some of the consequences of giving him that letter in case it doesn't go well?
