Couch 156: The Clock Strikes...

My itunes won't sync with my ipod anymore. I just gave up on the whole thing. Itunes looks like a trainwreck to me these days...and it also behaves like one.

Agreed! iTunes drives me crazy with all the changes. And with iPhone, I always put off updates (H makes fun of me for that) because they keep changing everything. Let's not even get into Facebook's constant changes...I couldn't figure out how to PM someone (who I'm not friends with) earlier today because they changed how you do it. Plus I'm an admin for a page on there, and they keep changing how organization pages work, too...

I feel like I sound like an old person grumbling about the new-fangled technology!

My right eye won't stop jumping, & I haven't even had any caffeine. Yay for anxiety.

I have a session in 4 hours. After yesterday, when he told me he couldn't go to court with me, I'm still feeling so alone. I wish I hadn't asked him. I know I need to move past this, but it's too soon. I hope he doesn't expect me to talk about my feelings about his no again today.

I used to have that all the time. Even when i was a kid. I thought it was from not enough sleep, but since it hasnt happened since i started taking topomax, i wonder what the electro-mechanism really is.

I think I might have to terminate with L. I mean, we'd have to do it before she moves in the summer anyway. But with the lack of familiarity I suddenly have with her, I am wondering if it's better to quit now while I can still consider my experience with her to be positive and healing.

It's only been one month since she returned and already, she's only going to be in town two days in November.

Eta no no no, as soon as I posted this I got teary. I'm so sad about her.

This probably doesn't apply to you, but there are some people who hate being rejected so much that they have to reject the other person first.

No, that absolutely applies to me.

But idk how much of my response is due to that. Probably some percentage, especially if you take "rejection" and change that flavor to "abandonment," though maybe not the majority. I do think she's dropping the ball.

I have attached successfully to important female mentor-type figures in the past and moved on gracefully and healthily when circumstances deemed so, though it was emotionally painful-- so it has been done before-- but this one is rocky.

Stressed - sorry about your kittens. But I am glad they got to experience being cared for during their short existence.

Hi couch peeps. Long time no see. I haven’t been reading here so if you accept hugs, handshakes or head nods I’m giving them out. Things in my life really blew up. My father became very ill and spent most of the month in the hospital and is now at a rehabilitation center to get physically stronger before he can come home. He’s in liver failure. Also my dog who would have been 15 in February died this past Saturday of lung disease. I had him since he was 8 weeks old. So yeah, I have nothing but a bunch of negative stuff going on that’s taking a major toll on my life. I just wanted to check in and say hey, I’m still around and I miss the couch but just haven’t had the energy to participate. Thinking of you all.

My viola sounds GOOD.

My card got declined trying to buy a new set of strings from the shop down the street, so my repair guy dug around in his pile of crap and just happened to find an opened but unused set tangled up in all the old strings customers leave behind. Saved me $130. Three of the strings are a type I've used for years but the lowest string was a new one-- I really like it. Total keeper. Very excited. Changing string brands is a big deal because they're so eyewateringly expensive, the risk of hating them is too high...

My day was garbage. I had a really depressing dream about RoboT this morning, then had a work situation blow up to the point that I’m “firing” one of my two assistants. He’s only with me for one class period, but he’s creating unnecessary drama and actively trying to undermine what I’m doing in that class. My work is too important to deal with crappy adults.

Congrats Anais. I always wondered what you play. I used to teach band and orchestra. I prefer the mid range instruments. I've been dying to buy my own bassoon and finally thought I would go for it with my pitiful payout from a car accident last year but I decided I still can't spend that kind of money.

To the other dissociative people, when do you suspect others have come out in session? My T has read back things that I don't normally say and now he wants me to bring in a notebook so I can take my notes as well. Did I mention this somewhere else?
