I went to sleep before 9:30 but have been lying in bed since 4a.m., wide awake! I didn't die during the night. I thought maybe I would. I'm getting a chest x-ray then seeing my rheumatologist. I'm not sure he wants to hear about my weakness problem but I can ask!
Tomorrow is the vascular surgeon. But I need to tell my PCP that I have to pursue the weakness problem. I don't have a cardiologist to give me a 24 hr. heart monitor. T now agrees it could be my heart but could be panic attacks too. I just want to be better! I have no appetite for first time in my life! I can't stop warfarin and afraid to stop gabapentin because of the sciatic pain. Sorry, I just need a place to get my thoughts out! |

I think I managed to top the exploding fizzy water for embarrassing beverage-related therapy moments. Today, I had my usual, slightly opened fizzy water on the table next to me. I was telling a story, gestured with my hand, hit the water bottle, and sent it flying through the air! It landed on the floor and leaked into a little puddle. I was turning red and laughing as I went to clean it up. T: "That was impressive!" I grabbed a few tissues, and he said not to worry about it, as it's just water. I said, "But there will be a wet spot on your carpet." He said, "Eh, I'll just tell my next client that my last one brought a dog."

Love Dr. T's responses, LT. R and I meet at my home, and yet I would probably expire from embarrassment if I spilled a drink in session. (It was embarrassing enough when I had to wipe my mouth last week.)

More esoterica about salt: an entire blog devoted to all things salt--
https://saltandpeppershakers.wordpre...e-salt-shaker/ Turns out shakers were invented by the same guy who invented Mason jars, but because salt would clump, it wasn't until the good ol' Morton Salt Company figured out to add magnesium carbonate to keep it free flowing (and give that chemical after taste!) in 1911 that shakers became popular. The ad campaign of the iconic girl with the umbrella and the slogan, "When it rains, it pours" was one of the most successful of all time. And the guy who founded the company was the son of the guy who founded Arbor Day! Love food culture/history! I've had Mark Kurlansky's book on the history of salt on my Kindle for 2 years--I should maybe read it! |

His book on cod was interesting as well.
I also like food history. I have binge watched some youtube stuff on it ( the bbc' A History of Breakfast Lunch and Dinner is one I really liked) and I have a couple of podcasts I listen to while walking my dogs.

Feeling a lot better adter tooth was removed, the dentist was so lovely he kept stopping and checking in the whole thing was nearly pain less. And you dont realise how much pain you were in until it is gone. He also said the bone that was eaten away would grow back again.

There is a fun show called Back in Time for Dinner where a British family re-lives several decades of history by eating only things that were popular at the time.

I'll have to look up the youtube series. One of the many things I liked about the old BBC "Upstairs Downstairs" was the comparisons of dining and the changes over time.

It freaked me out a bit to see the non-iodized version of salt as pretty common here in the States (along with the recent craze around raw milk) -- back home, we were strongly warned that iodized was the only way to go (just like pasteurized milk) or else, there were the awful pictures of people with iodine deficiency (rickets and goiter) to remind us of the horrors of using non-iodized salt!

So we bought a new vacuum a month or so ago, because the old one completely quit on us, and we got a nice one too a Dyson that was on a really good sale. I've used it all of 3 times since then and went to use it yesterday and no suction. So tonight when I got home from work I watched a couple of videos on the dyson web site and between the two of us, h and I unclogged it and it's working like a charm again! cat hair was totally matted in both the intake for the floor part, and inside the plastic wand attached to the hose. H blew hard through one end of it (yeah he's full of hot air alright haha!) and this huge clump of cat hair came shooting out it was too funny!

Is it the Dyson for pet hair? I need a new vacuum, but the Dyson price makes me pale and they seem so heavy I don't think I could use it.
AY, there's nothing dangerous about non-iodized salt. They used to say iodine deficiency depended on where you lived, but since the food supply is so global for most people, it doesn't matter so much now. Especially if you eat things like nori. Raw milk, however, I wouldn't choose to use because you really have to have faith in your supplier. |

So I ran across this Jung quote today: "We cannot change anything until we accept it. Condemnation does not liberate; it oppresses." (I am fairly certain this idea did not originate with him, and has been around for millenia, but regardless...)
I'm applying this specifically to the thoughts that came up on Thursday evening with t about those dream-questions (one in particular) I posted about recently. I know I was able to sit there "solid in my body" as she said while we discussed 'it' [she didn't label 'it', but yeah ET] because I knew on some level that those kinds of feelings are somehow all wrapped up in my maternal transference feelings/attachment to her. Gah it's all so confusing!!) Anyway she handled it so well, I almost can't believe it still. I really LIKE it when she's "intellectual t" and she needs to be that way more often! So anyway. As I apply that above Jung quote - finally admitting to myself and accepting that I have those ET kinds of feelings for her - and feeling like oh NOW I understand why my feelings are so intense sometimes - I feel like my feelings for her altogether are loosening their hold on me. Y'know? I am left with a question though. Why'd it take me 6.5 YEARS to get to this point? And does t feel like that reflects badly on her, that I'm STILL there? And is that what she was thinking when she said she'd been wondering if we are going to grow old together?! Lots of thinking going on in my noggin since I finished my class on Saturday morning. (By the way I got the pointy letter grade for the semester.) I know grades probably shouldn't mean as much to me as they do now, but they do - probably because I barely squeaked by GPA-wise (and I mean barely!!) to get my BS 33 years ago that it feels really good now to get better grades. Well this is a long enough post. ETA: Think I used the word feelings enough here? ha! |

I get raw cow's milk and raw goat's milk from an organic farmer I know. It is delicious. It is also expensive so I only get when making a few specific things.
I have a refurbished dyson regular vacuum and it is not all that heavy as far as I can tell. It is sort of a pain to figure out at first I thought. But it sucks up pet hair very well. I also have a cordless stick dyson (also refurbished) which I love but it really does not last all that long on a charge and the gunk holder is very small and I have to empty it a lot (three or 4 times to suck up a few rooms)

Do you folks use your Dyson on carpet or bare floors? (I have a mix of hardwood and heavy Persian rugs that are supposed to be suction vac only--no beater bars).

Tbh, I'm too much of a peasant to be aware of whether my flooring is compatible with a dyson or not. I'm sure I'd dyson it regardless.
