Off topic...I am caving in to pain meds after oral surgery yesterday (abscess, tooth extraction and implant). This may actually be the best way to head into Mother's Day.

I think una is intimidated by me.

With my dental phobia I wish for the pain meds before I even get there...

Haha, I think you mean "special"? I gave up on cards years ago. I think the only one I ever got that fit was of a couple kids with ketchupy french fries up their noses, with a caption that read something about parenting skills.

I feel like my T should send my mom a card for Mother's Day, like, "Thanks for bringing me business!" I was talking the other day about my fears of saying something that would haunt my daughter for the rest of her life (like things my parents have said to me), and T made some joke about helping keep the next generation of therapists in business.

The day before my procedure, I had a cleaning and opted for a numbing agent that wandered to my throat and it felt like it was closing up and I couldn't breath. The hygienist said I think you're having a panic attack (when I said couldn't feel my legs) and I said I thought I was having an allergic reaction. She said, no, you just feel like you're suffocating, but you're not. She had me breathe and we joked, which helped. Anyway, we got through it and then the next day had the fun stuff done. After the tooth was out, and the bone drilling began, I stopped the action to ask if it was normal to feel pain at that point. It was not. So more numbing. This morning, I emailed my therapist to whine about the pain today and she was all--vent away, but take the drugs! Before it's too hard to get on top of the pain. So I have, and now I know why there is an opioid crisis. This stuff is awesome.

I get TOTALLY silly at the dentist. I even embarrass myself. I think novocaine et al mess with my inhibitions. What few i have. theyre connected more loosely than my teeth.

Last time I went to the dentist, the fire alarm went off mid procedure and I had to go outside with this blue sheet hanging out of my mouth. I had to stifle giggles for the rest of the procedure.

My mom called during session recently (really annoying) and he asked if it was her and I said ya and he said "let me talk to her" LOL.. I never answered the phone but I was curious as to what he would say, he was telling me all things he would tell her if he ever talked to her. Was quite amusing

I think he would be ok meeting her but I am not, I don't want her meeting the person that makes me happiest in life. She would somehow ruin all that. So a card would also be a big no for me... but it's a funny joke/idea there.

My t made a joke like that to me too, a couple years ago. I remember because let's just say I was NOT amused!

Now he's already had 2 different t's. The 2nd one really seemed to help him a lot though, and he hasn't been back to see her in awhile.

I was yelling out loud "what inhibitions?" and then I finished reading. haha

Well, I have written my bad paragraphs for the day.

I know what is wrong with the story—it started as a satire and became preachy. I just haven’t yet figured out how to fix it.

Hello couch! So...last I was paying attention atat and una had a wedding in the works and stopdog was dressing for the event like Bo Peep or something (maybe a sheep?), and now atat got tenure by taking a nap, has nearly cleaned all the things, and una’s moving in with stopdog because of puffy tissues and too much cleaning? And everyone is getting their teeth cleaned.

I’m so confused.

It is the depth of underneath that is impressive in my cats. The older one, when he was a kitten, brought me an extremely dead bird carcass that he obviously had not killed - it is the only dead thing I have ever seen him with, and the new guy sits and cries when he sees a bug.
They need help finding their inner dexter.
