Another kind of therapy for Complex PTSD and Dissociation, AIR Network Therapy.
At the Midwest Center for Trauma, Minnetonka Mn they train therapists in this type of therapy.
It is NOT psychodynamic therapy. It is not CBT. I have only been to two sessions, there is a lot I don't know. It is more difficult to adjust to if you have done years and years of psychodynamic therapy.....like me ......but possible they say.

There are similar therapies out there, in other states, but I do not know them.
I think they all work more directly with the brain, improving neural pathways.

If you live outside of Minnesota, hopefully Midwest Center for Trauma could direct you, I think?
Anyone else trying anything similar?
Thanks for this!

Thanks for sharing this. I had not heard of it before. It's not something I would be interested in for myself. But it's nice to know it's out there.

Could you please tell us more about it? I live far from your place so I won't be able to try it, but I'm curious. What methods do they use, what does the session look like?

i had never heard of this before and i was going to ask you if you knew the reasoning to why it is more difficult to adjust to after having psychodynamic T, which i did, and i believe that the overall results of psychodynamic T were not particularly beneficial for me or helping me to recover from developmental trauma and DID.

i googled AIR Network T and found this site which explained the fundamentals well: Midwest Center for Trauma and Emotional Healing

what i read made a lot of sense and wish i would have known about or had this kind of therapy instead when i was addressing my traumas. i might have had much better outcomes for the things i was seeking therapy for.

thanks for sharing this information and i hope you will keep us updated on your progress with this mode of therapy.
Thanks for this!

To Koru.....patterning with T makes it more difficult. I am intially going to a different T for AIR Netwok. My current T is in training.

I have my third session tommorow. I do not know if we are a good fit. I am very discouraged presently .....am having a lot of physical pain.
Sorry I am not much help currently.

no worries...

sorry to hear that you are feeling discouraged...is there an opportunity for you to try another T if this one does not feel right? how long will it be before your current T completes their training?

Went to the third session. She is an art therapist. I think she will be ok....I
am impatient to get going. My physical pain is lessened, grateful for that. Maybe I can be more patient now?

My regular therapist is doing his final segment of training this weekend.
But as I said earlier we are too patterned currently to do this work right now.
We are mostly doing supportive/grief work right now. My mom died in January...... and I have a load of other grief.

Sorry if I am confusing. My life is rather confusing presently.

Maybe in the future I can give more info with the help of my therapist.

I guess I am sort of DID and some parts are opposed to the new AIR network therapy.

Enough for now.

no worries Citrine i appreciate you taking the time to respond to my questions. and i definilty understand why some parts may be opposed and suspicious to the new therapy. in the future, if it feels safer for you, you are welcome to send me a PM to discuss any of this..my inbox is always open
