As the U.S. Thanksgiving Holiday approaches I reflect on what I'm thankful for. This is challenging, given the godawful week I've had in therapy and the desire to poke T's eyeballs out persists but here goes:

I am thankful for therapy. I consider it a gift.
I am thankful for T's gentle voice and for the awareness that I need to find my own.
I am grateful for his patience,
and his persistence and his unyielding support while I travel through the horrors of my childhood
I am thankful for my family
and for myself
I am thankful for this planet
I am thankful for all of you, my PC friends.

but I still hate him right now.....conflicting feelings, who me?

I am thankful for past therapy successes :-)
I am thankful for friends and family still "with" me
I am thankful for help received and circumstances that allow me to give/return a small measure of what I've been given

Okok, fine I'll admit it... I'm thankful for my T.

I am thankful for my husband, and my family. I am thankful that I ended up with the most wonderful in-laws.

I am thankful for my awesome birds.

I am thankful that I overcame panic disorder. This has enabled me to begin my life. This includes being able to leave NY and move to Philly, a city which I have fallen in love with. Not a day goes by in which I do not look up at the skyscrapers and tell myself that I cannot believe I am here. Seven years ago I wasn't even able to leave the house to go to the supermarket. Now I am here.

I am thankful for whatever gives me the strength to walk out that door every single day, no matter how horrible I am feeling-- to go to work, to go to my internship, and to attend classes.

I am thankful that I have found what it is that I am mean to be doing in life.

I am thankful for the ability to read.

I am thankful for the gift of being able to express myself through poetry and writing.

I am thankful for Freud because with out him,
T and I might not have jobs. hahaha

I am thankful for coffee (OK i'm starting to get ridiculous here).

I am thankful for all of you.
