Thanks for this!

Laundry's going, and I probably should go grocery shopping while h is working so it's done... and before it gets really hot outside... then I can swim this afternoon!
Thanks for this!

A while back, someone was talking about naming a couch the Pho King Couch, but someone else said it had been tried or talked about and was nixed by PC overlords (or was assumed that it would be nixed).

Trigger warning (going to use spaces because the code is too hard to look up)

Possible trigger:

Last edited by sabby; Aug 04, 2018 at 03:05 PM. Reason: Added trigger icon and code

Oh, dear Lord....

That's awful.

RR - code is [ trigger ] [ / trigger] without the spaces

Hope that helps.

Oh my goodness, I just came back from the most painful first date. I said maybe ten sentences over the span of three hours. I timed her, and at one point she actually spoke for forty-five minutes non-stop without me saying a word. I didn't think I'd ever escape!

(we met online, so we'd never had an in-person conversation before...)

Wow, that's one talkative date. Sorry she didn't let you get a word in.

That's awful, RR. I hope the police were able to find the car and that they'll take the dog away (and that it will be OK). You definitely did the right thing in calling the police.
Thanks for this!

Wow, 3 hours of that? I'm amazed you lasted that long... Now she's probably going to message you saying she had a wonderful time or something, being completely oblivious...
Thanks for this!

Yes, it works on humans too- like people who play slot machines/ gamble. Once a dog can do a behavior in a generalized way on cue (9/10 times in 5 different places ish) , an unpredictable reward schedule is the most reinforcing.

Back from grocery shopping, and just heated up my leftovers from dinner last night (eggplant parmesan from the italian restaurant we ate at before the show, one of those little hole-in-the-wall family owned joints that you'd never know from looking at the place has delicious food). Yum!

She clearly thinks you’re a great listener!

I would have gone to the bathroom and used one of those apps that calls you at a set time, then pretended it was an emergency.

We’re on break in the workshop and he’s going through the assignments and telling everyone what they did wrong. I’m up in 3.

At least he’s nice and funny, as I also signed up for an 8-week workshop with him this fall.

LOL! Yeah, I think you'll have to politely decline... In my mid-20s, I did quite a bit of Internet dating--I often found that the dates I thought went the worst (not just I didn't like the person, I thought the whole thing went poorly) were when they asked me out again. Though I sometimes think if I was really into the person, I was more nervous and would just talk about dumb things (like one where I think I went on about olives for 15 minutes), while if I didn't like the guy that much, I'd be more relaxed and be myself.
Thanks for this!

I think I hit my wall.

I spent the afternoon/evening at the ER with a dear friend who fell and dislocated her shoulder, then she came home with me for the night. I slept (sort of) on the couch so I could hear if she needed anything.

I don’t begrudge a single minute of that time/energy/attention. It was what was needed. But it occurred to me that not only am I running on fumes, perpetually, I am dangerously close to the moment when I won’t be able to say, “Needs must,” and step up to whatever needs to be done.

Then what?

(I am hesitating even over hitting post. Clearly, I have some issues with even seeming to be not competent and on top of things.)
