Couch 173: The Odiferous One

I think I hit my wall.

I spent the afternoon/evening at the ER with a dear friend who fell and dislocated her shoulder, then she came home with me for the night. I slept (sort of) on the couch so I could hear if she needed anything.

I don’t begrudge a single minute of that time/energy/attention. It was what was needed. But it occurred to me that not only am I running on fumes, perpetually, I am dangerously close to the moment when I won’t be able to say, “Needs must,” and step up to whatever needs to be done.

Then what?

(I am hesitating even over hitting post. Clearly, I have some issues with even seeming to be not competent and on top of things.)

it's the nickname i use for her here. one of the other couchies came up with it actually, and i liked it, so it stuck! you'll see other nicknames for t's in use as well in these parts.

Spoiler alert: she never does get laid, but she does enjoy some excellent pho pho.

A while back, someone was talking about naming a couch the Pho King Couch, but someone else said it had been tried or talked about and was nixed by PC overlords (or was assumed that it would be nixed).
