I don't have any real friends except for one that lives in the next state over and we hardly ever talk anymore. That's so depressing to admit. I'm glad I have a session in an hour. Yes, he would be able to see it.

I'll look into google voice, but it seems like that would still give him access to contacting me even if it is a roundabout way to do it.

The question is, what does a "safe" number mean? If you see the caller id the county court house, you can answer it or let it go to voice mail. If its him calling, you can block the number. In any case, as long as it is not your primary number, you havent lost contact to the outside world by him having that burner number.

Not yet... It takes awhile after its signed off on, they still have to install a separate internet access and still waiting for my work at home kit. Takes like 6 weeks and it's only been 2 weeks since sign off.... although one guy I know only took 3.5 weeks...

Do you need the number for any other purpose, like if the court needs to contact you?

I'm wondering if you can set it up and never check it, or cancel it once the order goes through.

Aaaaugh I was supposed to have today “off” to prep for a stupid board exam and to spend some time with one of the hospital’s more interesting consult service but my stupid pager went off at 7:30 with a stupid unnecessary reminder about grand rounds and I couldn’t go back to sleep and now I have been obscenely grumpy all day long.

I know this is ridiculous, to be so grumpy over such a thing, but I get so little sleep that this kind of thing causes pain waaaay out of proportion to the insult.

I guess I just don't want him to be able to call me at all, via any number. It's an emotional thing, not rational.

We talked about this in session some. He suggested talking to someone to find out if it's even necessary to provide it.

The form says this:
If you don't want the respondent to know your residential address or phone number, use a contact address and phone number so the court and the sheriff can reach you if necessary.

They did mail me a proof of service thing last year after they served it to him, so that's probably why they need my address. H knows my address so I don't care about that. It's my new phone number. I changed it partly as a way to break ties since it still had our old area code. For some reason, giving him my new number feels invasive.

Thats cool. Just, you know, different problems, different solutions. i will tend to bang on about the practical long past time if somebody doesnt tell me thats not what we're talking about
