I'm going to sort out enrollment first before I book my flight home.

Classes start again on the 1st of october.

I'll have dermatology, pharmacology 2, propaedeutics of surgery, internal 2, neurology, radiology, stomatology, urology and sports science. Apparently fourth year is supposed to be more chilled, but I think I will have 8 exams. Internal is a 6th year final exam and I don't think props of surgery has an exam. But I don't know yet.

I've already asked creepy guy if he has notes for the year above, he has some.

I am glad you passed. Is your wifi dependent upon grades somehow?

Our exam was in three parts.

The second half- the ECGS I recognized, the surgical tools not so well, then stitches which I did with shaky hands.

He asked me at the end after he said he'd give me a B "are you surprised"? .

I said yes because I was kinda blank with a few questions.

He was also showing off (I seriously thought of @@. ) by saying conditions in Latin and asking if I knew how to say words, which I didn't : eyes, chiasm.

I was posting on PC from my phone, which can only access the internet if wifi is free, as I don't have a SIM card for my iphone. I mainly just use it for taking pictures and the app Anki (and instagram). I carry a PAYG Nokia 100 for calls. But that's just in case as my calls home are always through skype.

Well, we showoffs do know our Latin and Greek.

I have my roots of medical terminology students pronounce and spell things ad nauseam. Kind of important in medicine.

They made us learn basic latin for chemistry and pharmacology. But I think it would be so much cooler to actually know how to write poetry instead of just knowing random words . I didn't mean to apply you were also showing off, just badly worded that it reminded me of you.

Congratulations, Lemon!

There is an appointment with the psychiatrist in two hours. I think I will let C go instead of me. We are on the same page about what to discuss with the pdoc. I would probably mess it up. I get really defensive and weird sometimes about symptoms. I just really want to feel better. So if that means I need to let loose the stranglehold of control I've been exercising over everything of late, then so be it. I need to be rational. If C doesn't follow through with what I've told her to do, then I can always make another appointment. That would be a waste of money, but I do have options.

Hopefully the psychiatrist is willing to prescribe either lamictal or lithium. I am less concerned about a benzo, although it would be nice to have something since I have been experiencing periods of unrelenting panic. Not every day - and I would not take a benzo every day - but often enough that it is really affecting my ability to function. I've taken up drinking and smoking weed to try to deal with the anxiety. The psychiatrist seems to want to help. I'm hoping that if I let C be honest with her, she will be willing to try what I think will help.

I hope the PDOC appointment goes well and you get the medication that will be beneficial.

Susannah, I hope your/C's appointment with p-doc goes well and she can prescribe something to help.

I see my p-doc in an hour, actually, and I want to talk to her about going off Abilify, which I recently started. According to Fitbit, my heart rate has been considerably elevated lately (both resting heart rate and at other times, even when I'm just sitting on couch--or sleeping), and in comparing when I started it to my Fitbit records, there's a clear correlation. And it's listed as a potential "serious side effect." I'm on an incredibly tiny dose (half of the smallest tablet), so going down on it isn't an option. I think it's also interfering with my sleep. Plus I'm trying to exercise more, so an elevated heart rate seems a bad thing...

Actually, I want to ask p-doc about more natural options (I'd really like to ask about medical marijuana, which is legal here, but not sure what she'd say about that). I've tried so many SSRIs (most of them), SNRIs, a mood stabilizer, an atypical antipsychotic, whatever Wellbutrin is, and an antiseizure med or two (might be forgetting something), and I feel like for the most part, the side effects have been worse than any benefit. The worst, in some cases, being what I think are psychiatric side effects. I'm wondering if some sort of more natural supplements, like GABA, valerian, vitamins/minerals, etc. could help me without all the side effects. T has said that all medications have side effects, that it's a matter of deciding what I can live with. And I'm extra-sensitive to meds (psychiatric and otherwise--like Tylenol or antihistamines), so I get side effects even on really low, nontherapeutic doses.

Has anyone had success talking to their p-doc about more natural approaches? I'd stay on my low dose of Zoloft for the moment (wouldn't want to stop that and Abilify at same time).

Maybe see if the pDoc can do one of those gene tests which show what medications could be effective for you, LT, SusannahSays.

I think she may have mentioned that before, so maybe I'll ask about it. Just want to make sure insurance would cover it.
