Thank you for the hugs. I could really use them right now.

I'm hurting and scared. He also suggested moving out of the state. I'd lose my T! I'd lose everything! I can't survive without her. I don't care that I'm dependent on her. I need her! And of course, she's out of town right now (actually oit of the country), so I probably won't hear from her. Plus it's a Saturday. I did leave her a message. I feel like my world is falling apart.

I love this song. I sing it all summer. (In the garden, where no one can really hear me.)

Only two things that money can't buy, and that's true love and homegrown tomatoes.

Oh scarlet I'm so sorry. Selling your house and moving out of state sounds like he's trying done in away from himself but as that saying goes "wherever you go, there you are" he can't run away from himself.... my brain is very fuzzy from not sleeping much last night and working on my stats exam this evening I could be completely off base. This is really awful. I'm sorry this is happening to you.

And I don't see how moving out of state can possibly help.

I wasn't completely surprised. My H was surprised. The insurance wants us to pay 20%. My H also thinks he doesn't have to pay his copays anymore because he met the deductible. I have a feeling that's not true.

Because other states are a lot cheaper than California. But I'll lose everything. I've been thinking about all this and the only thing I need is a roof over my head, food, access to doctors, my dogs, and my T.

Hugs, Scarlet. I hope you don't lose the house.

ETA: In terms of copays, I think it depends on your insurance. If you meet the out-of-pocket maximum, then generally you don't have to do co-pays. Chances are, you'll have met that with his surgery bill (though it depends on what your maximum is--varies based on provider and plan). So maybe you won't have to pay them for his hospital visits after that, but I thought he made some before that, too?

Hiya couchies,

Wow, quiet here. Not feeling well emotionally. I did manage to get some work done though. I see t Tuesday, hoping she can help but I'm not getting my hopes up too high. Hope everyone else is doing better.

hellooooo couchies! so h and i laid in bed this morning talking for over an hour. it was nice, just talking like we used to before we became parents almost 20 years ago. then we went out to breakfast and continued the conversation. even talked about therapy a little bit and he said it kind of sounds like you want to keep going longer than october. i said i kinda do and i kinda don't.

in other news, i just put a henna treatment on my hair so I'm sitting around for the next 2 hours then I'll take a shower and rinse it out. then i'm going to a journey circle this afternoon with my drumming folks, i haven't been to a circle in quite awhile, L drumming for me thursday evening has me jonesing for a circle!! they just moved to a new location this past week so today is the first circle in the new space, and the theme is transitions, so what a better time for me to attend!!

Also, I haven't eaten any ice cream in a couple days and I'm already feeling better and it might be my imagination but my stomach is already looking better again. something made me start eating ice cream again a month ago, stuff with h or with t i don't know... but i'd gained a couple pounds back and hated that, so just two days with no ice cream i am back to
Possible trigger:
I think perhaps both working on accepting my attachment to t and being more open with h this past week is getting me back on the right track food-wise.
Possible trigger:

pic to come later once i rinse out the henna.....

You're doing such a great job Artie! I admire you commitment. I'm about your weight and am looking to get down to a similar goal weight. I quit soda and juice and that helped a lot. Now I need to get exercising and be more diligent with my eating.

Whew. I am taking a short break to read the Couch. My friends know me well, and I've had three people call me this week to say they have too many pears and/or grapes and will I please take some?

I am going to try making raisins and grape juice. I think I'll dry the pears and maybe freeze some pear puree for smoothies.

I like this kind of busy.

I’m inspired — and looking fondly at my Vitamix blender that hasn’t been put to good use in a really long while.

Thanks Scarlet! I'm back to walking every day again too - I had gotten kinda lax on that, but we started a walking challenge at work on 9/1 so I'm trying to walk at least 3 miles every day. I missed by a mile and a half yesterday oops...

Quitting soda helped me too! I was totally addicted to mountain dew for years. I have been soda-free for a little over 8 months now, the longest I've ever lasted so I think it's permanent. I love my iced tea, though....
Thanks for this!

I dropped my lousy English course. No more fourth-grade book reports for me!

Thank goodness I am not doing this except for fun and to learn more, because my transcript currently has one AU (for audit), two W’s (for withdrew) and 3 A+’s (for the courses I finished).

Makes me look like a total dilettante. Eh, I can live with that.

What do you like to use your Vitamix for?

I used mine this morning to make my kid a pear-blueberry smoothie, and I threw in some leftover raspberry jam too. YUM.

Raspberry jam in a smoothie?

Usually sludge-y veggie juices -- kale, spinach, pretty much any greens whipped up with blueberries, strawberries, bananas etc (it sounds awful but actually tastes pretty decent, especially since I'm rather fond of ginger and throw in some ginger in it, which kinda acts like a pick-me-up).

I recently had a beet-carrot-ginger juice at a coffee shop that I really want to try out (I heartily dislike beets and carrots but this was pretty phenomenal) -- it was though completely stripped of all the fiber and so, I'm guessing it'll taste a whole lot different if I leave it all in.

In winter, I've tried to make soup -- once I managed a spicy butternut squash soup (cutting up the squash took far more effort from me) which turned out pretty decent, if I may say so myself.

The Vitamix is generally too big for it but sometimes (after giving away a tiny blender I had) I've made chutneys in it.

Other than that, milkshakes and the like.
Thanks for this!
