I need to go walk around the block, I'm still just under 2 miles for the day. I wanted to try to do at least 3 miles every day this month during our walking challenge at work. Back shortly!
Thanks for this!

I find long hair on men both incredibly sexy and incredibly triggering. Facial hair only a little longer than 5 o'clock shadow is also sexy. However I have all the drive of a cold slab of concrete so take my opinion with a grain of salt.

Also EM big applause for standing up for your daughter's right to her own opinion!

The title Mx. is a gender-neutral option, albeit probably about as well-known as all those obscure gender-neutral pronouns that have never really taken off. I am pretty delighted by the traction that the singular "they" is making, though. I'll put other people's dignity and comfort above arbitrary rules of grammar any day.

My spouse and I also really, really want the word oxt to take off.

I need to get up and take a shower, but I'm too busy sending out of control texts to the therapist and feeling sorry for myself.

Back from my walk - my total today (so far) is 3.08 miles. Considering I sit on my butt for 8 hours a day answering customer's emails, I'll take it! eta: since the challenge started 9/1 I've clocked 10.9 miles. Since I don't like a point-something number, I shall now pace around my house to make it 11 haha!
Thanks for this!

I have some liquor-infused chocolates in my freezer that my brother sent me. I don't really care for them. I like liquor, and I like chocolate, but not together. [passes box around the couch]

I am not all that worried about gender identity and don't have much patience for the rhetoric around a lot of it. I get more upset by male privilege than by whether people know I am a man or a woman.

My passive(-aggressive) strategy is to use “coming weekend” for the weekend that’s well, coming up, and “next weekend” for the one after.

I have no idea if this is true but I was once chatting with a friend from South Africa and found that he did the same thing (using coming vs next) and according to him, using this distinction didn’t seem to be common among Americans but fairly popular among those who learnt English outside the US.
Thanks for this!

In Ye Olde Empyre?

The colonials strike back?

Wonder what CE does.

I do the “this” and “next.” This Saturday is the 8th, next Saturday is the 15th.

The yurt-dwellers are a peaceful easy going people who are not easily ruffled unless approached by under-performing hair.
Exhankster's man-bun wearing hippie had better use a lot of product on his white locks.

Best man bun ever, was when I gave my dog one. He didn't appreciate it, but I thought it suited him well.

So, are you finally acceding on behalf of the fair United States that you are not a former colony like the rest of us?

In which case, for gawd’s sake, could you please finally get rid of those terribly kitschy displays of life-under-British-rule that seems to be bewilderingly popular in certain parts of the country (and which proved to be a jarring introduction to life-in-America to this fresh-off-the-boat colonial)?
Thanks for this!

Nah, I meant you’re avenging the motherland’s humiliating defeat at our hands.

What displays are you talking about? I don’t think I’ve seen one. Though I do have British friends who have been moved to tears of sympathy for America by the tour guides at Independence Hall.
Thanks for this!
