I'm not sure I've got a proper answer from T about this.
But I have a thought. Eg, I'm being followed. Then my body reacts as if it is happening and I then full on believe and act in accordance to that. Or I can read someone else's terrifying experience as it's happening to them now and I immediately become that person and my body reaches accordingly again. Does this make any sense? I do have complex ptsd. So maybe because of the many traumas I've been through this is just a natural thing considering. |

I don't know if this is in any way similar, but when I see someone hurt themselves on tv I feel it in my bones.

A persons brain is not very smart. If you smile, your brain thinks youre happy. So what you are saying saying sense to me. Also, google mirror neutrons.

Every single thing we do, see, feel is filtered through our brain.
When we imagine performing an action, many of the same neurons fire as when we actually perform that action. Or (mirror neurons) when we see another person performing an action, many of the same neurons fire as when we perform the actions ourselves. Our brains are not very smart, and sometimes cannot tell the difference between imagining and actually doing/seeing.

Is because I've suffered terror so that is easy to emphasis with? |

I wish I knew.
![]() I imagine that trauma does impact our brain structure significantly, especially childhood trauma.

I've done that. My former T used to talk a lot about thinking something, and knowing something. She could explain it far better than me. But it had to do with looking for evidence to support or disprove the thought and then acting on it rather than acting on assumptions. I'm not explaining it well. It was helpful to me though.

I often make up scenarios in my head which I can then see and then my body responds as if it’s happening. Sometimes they’re so ‘out there’ to! But if I think something - I SEE it. Therefore it’s happend in my head.

I think if we have experienced terror we are wired to be hyper alert to it, above all else.
