I'm taking a last minute flight to Texas to be with my mom. She got a little loopy from not taking good care of herself and I'm worried. I hope that's all it is, a lack of self care. I wasn't planning to spend Thanksgiving with her but I'm trying to calm her down by saying it's just a holiday trip, no big deal. It feels like a big deal. I hope we can get her in to see the doctor while I'm there. I'm worried but not yet ready to play the "you must come live with me now" card.

Enjoy the trip anyway, Texas is lovely. Although the crowds for travel wont be fun

Hope she is alright.

I missed a "mandatory" meeting at my new job last night. I was just mentally not able to do anything but lay around and sleep. I'm hoping I get to call in and quit before they call and fire me.

I know this is a very luxury problem, but I'll most probably have two companies offering me jobs soon and I have no idea which one I'd like better. One has a nice, small office which is close to my home. The other has bigger offices with 15 people in each room and is further away. But the second company does more interesting work... I hate making decisions -.-

I'm back to feeling more like me and happy, it was literally like a switch in my ye old brain at 10pm on sunday.

I got stuck in a lift today. My hospital has two types- both of which take ages the older ones are right next to the newer ones, but they're smaller and have a weight limit of 230kg . I got in with L, when three other boys from my group got in. I did say maybe we should do two trips, but one of them said "nah, we'll be alright". So they squeeze in more, push the button and we get stuck half way up between a floor. L is panicking. Someone starts working out how much weight we're over by asking everyones weight. but I lied . I'm cool as a cucumber on the outside and say nothing other than telling L to calm down and that never works .The lights go off on top. One of the guys calls another girl from our class who goes to get someone else. 10-15 mins later a maintenance guy saves the day and opens the door. We're asked to remove our bags first then we climb out leg first on to a chair. Today was also the day I decided to wear my holey jeans ripped at the crotch area.

Then I froze at the library for two hours because I decided to sit next to a window andddddddddddddd it was cold, but not cold enough to make me move.

I wanted to buy more toffiee but it wasn't on sale so I got hummus instead.

Now I'm watching Coming Home For Christmas- a cheesy hallmark movie but totally loving it!

The second company is bigger, am I right in thinking that?

If you want my advice, to make sure you are not likely to end up jobless again, go with the second one?

Still thinking about how I'm going to bring up the seating thing on Thursday. It seems odd to me that a public speaking workshop should have raised something so basic in my head.

I know where the defensive posture comes from, but I'm not sure how to change it. Seems weird to even bring into session.

Oh, I just finished school started searching for jobs. I also already had two jobs during my studies. Both companies are successful at what they do, one is just generally smaller because they don't need more people to do what they do. People tend to work there for 10 or 15 years. It's less about finding a job and more about finding a good perspective for my future for me, fortunately.

Congrats- Way to go!

Is there a difference in pay and benefits?
Is there a difference in the work hours?
What would the travel to each be like?
Have you met anyone else from the office- what vibes do you get from each?
Where can you picture yourself staying 2 or 3 years down the line?
Is there opportunity with each to move up the ladder?
Food wise do they have somewhere you can eat properly if you needed to?

Lemoncake, I once got stuck in an elevator, and it would drop whenever you pressed the button to the floor you wanted to go to. It was kind of scary, but thankfully it only lasted a few seconds.

Sounds like you felt okay about it tough, that's good

I'm sorry if you've already posted about this but what is the seating plan like now?

I watched a lot of those videos about body language and it can be change- you could fake it until you really feel it later on.

Inside I was scared. It was way too cramped and it started getting hot.

I have Ferrero Rocher chocolate nothing can get me down today!

The main thing I cared about was being late to Urology class- but ended up being late anyway.

I cigarette smoke too.

How you are today Una?

You certainly had a good excuse!

I miss smoking sometimes...(was social smoker* off and on for maybe 10 years? Haven't had a cigarette in 9 years though...I longingly inhale secondhand smoke outside at times).

*OK, not totally social--started off that way, then often smoked alone in my apartment, but I was never like a pack a day smoker--more like half a pack a day at its peak, though sometimes more if I was drunk.

We had a different teacher, who still pointed it out despite knowing!

I'm sorry I forgot to add the word hate xDDD. I've seriously noticed that I skip words out an awful lot.

I'm not going to judge those that do though. In my wild days (second year) I tried to smoke marijuana, 3/4 times but it never really worked for me. I haven't tried real cigarettes and I've never drank alcohol. I've pretended to though, but it was just 100% sprite at a party.

9 years is a fantastic gap! I'm proud of your hard work LT. What made you want to stop?

My nephew lost his playoff football game. It was an away game (which is how I was able to go because it was like an hour from me instead of five hours from me). They were late getting there so they didn't have their warm up. They lost a player due to an injury in the first quarter. Five of the boys including my nephew were playing hurt. But it was so sad that they lost (and they did lose by a lot!) and my nephew and his teammates were crying. So we all cried. Kit.

I think I'm getting sick or trying to get sick. I have some sort of sinus thing going on. And I'm exhausted. I'm trying to finish end of year at work on the books but I can't because I don't have accurate inventory numbers. Nightmare! Kit.

From a couch of old...I'm considering moving my computer chair, which is usually positioned behind the armchair, so that I sit more directly opposite R. Rather than taking direct action towards this, I think I will try to instigate a conversation about this at the beginning of the next session.

The elevator we ride up to the stage in the concert hall is built to haul a concert grand piano, so it's huge. We generally put 20 or so people on that elevator at a time. Not scary, but if it ever gets stuck, we'll be minus 20% of the chorus for performance. LOL! It's actually the slowest moving elevator I've ever been on.
