I'm baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack!

It's currently 2.26am where I am, but I spent the last 12 hours on the surgical floor. All of which was voluntary as our surgery class finished at 1.15pm but me and another guy asked if we could stay on as we had checked that our vascular surgeon was on call. I love him more than before. 1- because he said "mental illness is just like any other illness". He was showing us photographs on his phone

Possible trigger:
I'm tired now and will pay for it in the morning, but I honestly had so much fun. I teased the guy I was with but I feel like he's growing on me.

OMG I just remembered that one of the nurses in the clinic was super nice, she offered to make me coffee. They had a real coffee machine and it tasted soooooooo good I'm not sure I can go back to instant now.

Now that my kitchen is so organized it makes me want to bake. I am googling for a recipe for gingerbread that will be similar to what my brother sent me from Germany. Man that was some good stuff.

I am sewing Christmas blankets and they're big, so I vacuumed because I need to lay them out on the floor. The dog must've come in afterward. He's like Pigpen in Charlie Brown, only with dog hair. Since he hit about 8 years old, he just walks around poof!-ing dog hair everywhere constantly. I could probably weave the dog hair into yarn and make a whole new dog by now. So I am trying to pick dog hair out of the blanket fabric, and have to vacuum again.

Quick Couch poll: Favorite podcasts?
I'll be sewing much of the weekend to get the boys' blankets and such finished, and need something to occupy my brain.

Art, cookie-style gingerbread, or the thicker cake-style?

I loooooove gingerbread. The boys are all going to bake gingerbread house pieces tonight so that we can decorate houses on Sunday.

Cute kitchen! (And clean!)

I love Robin Williams -- not everything he did -- but I really liked him as a person and as a talented, well-trained entertainer and actor.

well the gingerbread my brother sent was kind of a cake-cookie kind of a thing. Very different from gingerbread cookies that are shaped like a man that I've bought here in the US. the ones from germany were round and very cake-like. soooo good.
Thanks for this!

Ooo, those sound interesting, and varied. Right up my alley I think my boys are working their way through Serial, and say it's interesting. I just put My Favorite Murder on my playlist...will look at the others tomorrow!

Thanks for the recommendations, velcro.

Thanks, stopdog and susannah.

I'm looking those up and adding some to my playlist. I need some fresh voices and different topics to listen to! I tend to tune music out after a while, but listening to podcasts helps the time pass while I sew, do dishes, clean.

If they want something to gossip about....they should look at their own lives...they really don't have anything to brag about...that's why they make stuff up...nothing better to do with their lives than to lie about people...

WFS: In addition to some already mentioned, I like Buffering the Vampire Slayer (sort of fan fiction of Buffy), NPR's Fresh Air and This American Life, The Allusionist (quirky British English language geekiness), The Daily, and Star Talk.
