Couch 188: Who needs those people, anyway?

My boss is being kind of strange today. I don't know if its because she's in a good mood or what but her voice is sort of sing-songy and she's acting really nice. It's bewildering and making me sort of paranoid really. Kit

It's raining today (it's been raining for several days here in So Cal) and this morning there was a beautiful rainbow that was huge and the edges were really bright. You could really see the colors. It was magnificent. Kit

Maybe she got “some” last night.

Nice theory but nah, that's not it. She's 68, widowed, with lots of health issues, and she's not seeing anyone. I'm pretty sure that's not it. Not sure why she's acting different. I mean, I guess it's good because she's in a good mood, not a bad mood, but it's just creepy. And for whatever reason, it's unsettling. That makes me paranoid. Kit

If I weren't at work, I could totally go to sleep right now. I'm tired and achy and all this rain just makes me want to curl up in bed with my blankets and my kitties. Yesterday between Church and the Superbowl, I took a nap in my bed and my two kitties slept with me at the same time. It was sooooo nice. Kit

68 is not that old and just because someone is widowed or just because they may not been seeing someone for awhile does not mean they are not having sex nor does it mean they have not just met someone.

I didn't mean to imply that 68 is old. I apologize if that is the conclusion that anyone drew from my initial post. However, I'm pretty close to my boss, emotionally. I'm at her house almost every night. We go to Church together. We work together. We volunteer together. We see each other on the weekends. She is having surgery in a week and has had to find other people to stay with her when she gets out of hospital because she doesn't have anyone to stay with her. I just really don't think, in this case, that the reason for her being in a good mood is because she had sex. I'm 99% sure I would know if she was seeing anyone, even intermittently. There could be other reasons why she is in a good mood. Maybe she's just not in as much pain from her chronic medical conditions today. Maybe she's just really happy she finally has a surgery date. Maybe she's happy she finally got over her cold---which she needed to do because she has surgery coming up.

My building is six stories and is undergoing renovation. My office is on the first floor and the main office is on the fourth floor. Fourth floor is closed off for renovation and they’re on the sixth floor now. I used to take the stairs to the fourth floor, so now I feel obligated to take them to the sixth floor.

I hope the renovation ends soon.

As a matter of fact I am—locker room renovation means I’d have to walk through the whole gym to get to the pool instead of using the locker toom door to the pool. As I don’t feel like trudging dripping wet in a swimsuit in front of every one, I’m taking the day off.

The sun has come out after 2 weeks. I hope it clears up so all the clean up can happen quickly.

Tonight's accomplishment: minestrone (I think? there was no pasta, but there are beans) from scratch not following any sort of recipe. H approved. Chopping things helped work out some of the stress from therapy. And we have lots of leftovers.
