I am pinned to my couch by new cat who has suddenly decided she is a lap cat. It’s amazing how 8.5 lbs. quickly feels like 85.

Hope you recover soon, SD. (I would say feel better soon, but feelings aren’t facts, after all.)
Thanks for this!

I don't know if I should be worried about my younger cat. You know the sound cats make when they are trying to hack up a hairball? She has been doing that, but with increasing frequency over the past couple of weeks--she never actually coughs anything up. Should I worry it is happening so often? Otherwise she seems okay.

A houseful of boy energy can be just the ticket sometimes, can't it?

I am making mustard.

If I had known how easy it is, I'd have done it years ago. Now I just need to make soft pretzels to go with the the mustard.

FIY about mustard - if you let it sit a few days after you make it - it really is better in my opinion.
I have a constant cycle of different mustards going. It is super easy and really fun to make with different types of mustard seed and liquids

So far I've got mustard with beer and maple syrup, and mustard with white wine and sugar. The mustard directions say 2-3 days, but I imagine my real-life directions would say "until you see the mustard seed on the counter and remember you're making mustard." So probably around Thursday.

My old cat must've gotten wind of my bid to have new cat come visit, because he's really stepped up his game. This afternoon, he sat on my lap in exactly the right spot that I couldn't quite reach the keyboard, then right before the laundry was due to be switched from washer to dryer, he went and fell asleep on my feet.

Rough day here.

I’d take her to the vet just to be sure.

If it has been going on, I would get my cat checked out. I am not a person who calls the vet all the time and most things pass, but if it isn't going away, I would call.

I am now watching Bob Newhart use his clients as an excuse to miss a family gathering.

It is becoming increasingly clear to me in the past couple of days that I do not want to end my marriage. There needs to be a way for me to reconcile this stuff or whatever is the right word.

It's inadvisable to send a distress signal via email to your therapist if you can't talk about what's causing it, right?

Today is my sister's birthday. She would have been 62 today. Missing her. It's been almost 8 years since her death. How can it have been so long already?

My dad would have turned 85 today. (he passed a little over 5 years ago). My family is all going to taco bell wherever we live to eat at some point today in his honor (he LOVED taco bell), and taking selfies to send each other. My mom got the idea from her grief share group friends and I find it quite touching.
