To get to the end, probably not. To get a stable and tolerable life, there sometimes is, eg meds.

If you try to find all your old posts the search results will stop at 5000. But the others are out there.

Sleeping pills are notorious for stopping working. I'm amazed they worked for so long.

I wish it wasn’t though. Looking back I’m quite embarrassed by the way I acted. I was like a needy child and in the throws of the therapy relationship.

Did I ever say how glad I am to have given up therapy and get that drama out of my life? I think I’ve may have mentioned it and time or 2 or 3 or 4.

I've decided to accept the job offer. Husband is not talking right now- and I'm not in the mood to deal with his crap - so I am accepting the job. Two more weeks of overnight shift and then I'm done. Thanks everyone!

You must have met my mother at some point; I wasn't allowed to have cotton candy as a kid. Ever.

I was actually forbidden all candy as well, except around Halloween. Then I could have a piece a day. (It lasted for months.)
I went bonkers with candy when I turned 16 & was able to drive myself places.

current week prompt 2: "
"Imagine yourself 10 years in the future looking back. What do you think will be the experiences you remember most from your life right now? What will be your sharpest memories? Who will or will not be in those memories? What will the formative experiences of this time in your life be? Write a poem from the perspective of your future self."

This is another poem that I'm having to basically wring out of myself...

I spent the day shopping with my coworker for the Christmas in July thing we did last year too, for a local non-profit that helps foster families. We filled her SUV with toys from several different stores, then got them unloaded into her storage locker. The event is at the end of the month, I'm going to help with that again too. It was a lot of fun last year watching the kids get their toys and visit with Santa!

Just wanted to drop in before I head to bed. Hugs and head nods all around as appropriate. Night all!

I think I’m hitting bottom. I lost it at work today. I never loose it at work. I’ve never felt this low and helpless before, it is so not like me. I want to call T and I know he would be quick to return my call but then I don’t know what I want from him or what he could possibly do that would be meaningful/helpful right now.

Economics textbook wisdom:

Quote:
Luxuries, such as caviar and diamonds, tend to have large income elasticities because consumers feel that they can do without these goods altogether if tgeir incomes are too low.
I feel like I could do without those goods at any income level.

Uh...that also sounds familiar. A piece a day from Halloween and Easter candy, lasted for months. If it was something like a larger chocolate Easter egg, it had to be sliced and only one slice a day eaten. If I wanted candy otherwise, I had to use my allowance for it.

Plus side, I had no cavities until sometime in grad school.
