For me, it's also trying to figure my T out. Because I tend to want to figure people out in general. It's almost like I feel that if I can figure someone out, then maybe I can prevent them from abandoning me.
Thanks LT that was really helpful. I found a google goldmine on T and found it helpful in feeling connected to him and very helpful in building trust with him. I know he would get a strong twinge of vulnerability if he knew I found what I did but would be OK with it when we talked it out. Meanwhile he has started sharing almost as much with me as what I found on google. He is discovering how helpful it is to our work together.
Your last line is totally me! And what I found in my google goldmine was that he is authentic so I can trust a little more that he won’t abandon me weather I do something to prevent it or not. Now that I am more secure he is more open.

I'm sorry your sister is going through this.He sounds so stupidly immature- not ready to have a baby? He's already got a child that needs him. Partying all the time won't bring anyone real happiness. When he gets into another relationship most other women around his age would also want to settle down. Will he just bail then too?

For my writ8ng workshop homework, we’re supposed to come up with

Quote:
A character is on a long-distance train journey, in a car without many people. It’s late at night, the car is quiet. A mysterious person enters the car and sits near the character. Plot a short story that will take place entirely in this car of the train. Plot it by giving a brief description of what happens in the following segments:

Beginning –
Middle –
End –
Remember, you're not writing the story, you're simply telling us what happens in each of those segments of the story.
I really like stories set on trains, and 2ex was very fond of movies set on trains, so with knowing all those I’m having trouble coming up with anything original or at least not cliched.

Maybe just two people talking- that ends up like an inspector calls?

Scene from movies:

1. With Angelina and Johnny Depp. They're strangers. She's being followed by two agents.

2.
Possible trigger:

With the app I have for my bank account they give you a breakdown on your monthly spending.

How much do you guys spend on food each month?

Less than I used to when there were four teenagers in the house (thank God!), but still a good bit now because it's summer (basically four in the house - in and out anyway). Groceries with cleaning supplies and personal care products, etc., still probably add up to $500/month give or take a bit. It soon should get better when we are fully down to just three adults and all back to work. It fluctuates. In the summer and December when I'm off of work and so is my son, it's higher. During the school year it goes down a bit since we're not home all day grazing. When I was feeding 6, it was a couple hundred higher. Teenage boys are non-stop eaters with holes in their legs.

Got called in today. It’s especially stupid because I think I ought to be in the psych hospital but nope here I am at work taking care of patients.

Life is super weird.

That reminds me of Agatha Christie's Murder on the Orient Express.

I know it's easy for me to say this, but in first aid class rule number 1 was always our own safety first. would it be possible to reduce your hours?

Are you on one session a week with T, can you ask if you could increase that?

My own cousin H who is also a hospital doctor recently took 5.5 months of work, because of her depression. She was severely burnt out and its just harder when you try to carry on and ignore it.

Other ideas:

- stealing from our fave show maybe the stranger could be him, but from the future!?!?!

-The person isn't really there the whole time and it's like the ending of fight club.

-the other guy says "I am your father".

-it could be his clone whose escaped from a facility after following the advice from a cleaner and learns that there is no lottery at the base which lets them go to the island and those that are selected are those picked to die.

-big brother is watching him,He learns war is peace and 2+2=5.

-the stranger tells him that he lives in Seattle with his father and his dog and has a brother called Niles who married this girl called Lemoncake.

Okay i'm done.

I went to one of those 3rd party Motor Vehicles places today and renewed my drivers license to one of those new fangled travel id ones. They show you your picture and will retake it if you don't like it, mine came out pretty well for once. I thought I better go ahead and get it now before my sister weekend back in the midwest next month. I bought my plane tickets last night. Woo!
Son stopped by briefly to pick up a few odds & ends that they didn't get yesterday. He's not in the best of moods today, I guess he's feeling stressed still because even though they're done with the crap now and living in their new place, they don't have any furniture, so have to live out of boxes til they get some and they're kinda broke right now between the extra month rent to break old lease, deposit and first month's rent on new place. They're going to try to buy new furniture on credit hopefully the qualify. If they don't I think h and I will go ahead and loan them the money to buy it. We haven't offered that yet because I know my son wants to do this on his own if possible. He has never had any credit, so he has to start somewhere. He's been working at the same place for 3 years now so hopefully he will qualify. If he doesn't, she will for sure, as she has bought a car and has a car loan right now so she has established credit.

Evening, Couch.

Eventful day over here. My father helped me with the computer update, but it has installed correctly, and I'm back in business. Some things are even better than they were, so I'm grateful for that. Something seems to have happened to the brightness, though. Seems brighter than before, and I can't quite figure that out.

I wish I could reduce my hours but residency just is not a flexible entity I do have vacation coming up, though.

Tbh I wish I could have more sessions with T but I don't think he'd agree to that--he doesn't want to be giving me too much positive reinforcement for being sick. (I know that is kind of a bonkers way of thinking about it, and I hate that about his approach. I'm actually thinking seriously about quitting and finding another T.)

Oof.

If you're struggling as much as you are and don't feel like you're getting the support you need from your current T, then it might not be a bad idea to find someone else. I'd still ask about increasing sessions though.

I spend about 60 dollars on food each week from the supermarket for myself That includes stuff for breakfast, snacks and usually odds and ends stuff for dinner. Aside from that 60 bucks for food for myself-H and I get take out food once a week (usually on Saturday). H’s grocery bill is separate from mine because we rarely share meal time or eat the same things. Tomorrow he is having steak and shrimp for dinner but I’ll probably have veggie pasta. He probably spends around 60 bucks a week at the grocery store for himself as well. So rough estimate is around 480 a month total on food from the supermarket and then whatever we eat out is additional.

I think its because we were weaned on Roald Dahl.

When i was doing standup, there was an article in psychology today that said that comedians were abused children with high iqs, who survived because they were able to see the absurdity of their situation, that they were children taking on an adult role. And becoming comfortable with absurdity led to comfort with comedy.

Eta - i like how all your suggestions to @@ are such outlandish fantasy :meangirl:
