It's hard when you're not well.

Can you take some time out despite being surrounded by everyone if you need to?

Maybe a quick text would be better?

She's a weird bean for sure, but there's also 11 years between us, which helps and I'm more comfortable talking about stuff without automatic shame.

The boys won't let me name no-foot kitty Peg.

Got home from my trip and my house smells funny. Not bad per se, but definitely not good either. I emptied the trash and washed dishes before I left, so that's not a cause. Maybe it's because I turned the heater fairly low before I left and the air hasn't been circulating for four days. Or my house just smells weird and consequently I must smell weird too. My husband used to tell me I smelled bad, so I'm kinda paranoid about it.

2ex used to do the same line on me, to the extent I saw doctors. Even now I’m paranoid about it. And yet mysteriously no one else can smell this smell.

I swear these guys have a handbook or maybe a listserv.

Today turned out better than I was expecting. Went to the in laws and none of them bothered me about being in the hospital. Took the kids by myself to my parents and my parents and brother spoiled me with cash and gift cards to Kohls. It was very unexpected but appreciated since they've never have given me more than $50. The biggest problem today is my 4 year old started running a high fever tonight.

For humans, this is true. But Boxing Day is an international holiday...for cats.

Well, I'm at work today. Christmas was okay with my sister's family here (I like it better when they aren't here). The kids are kind of behaving but out of 7 people in her family, 5 are sick. The rule is: if you're sick, you don't come to Christmas. They came anyway. My Dad and I have weak immune systems, so I'm sure it's just a matter of time before we are sick. Tomorrow I am off of work. I've been at work an hour and a half and I'm already bored out of my mind. Nothing much going on today at work. Meetings cancelled. About half the staff is gone. I'm seriously struggling not to SH. Trying to remember why I don't want to do it.........Hugs to anyone who wants one. Kit

I made an excellent prime rib yesterday-but the rub I got, a new one that was a gift so we tried it while the giver was there, had rosemary in it. I finally just admit - I hate rosemary. Luckily - there was not much in the rub. I am coming out of the closet on rosemary dislike - that and turkey= I am free.

Isnt rosemary from the same family as turpentine? I dont like Pine-Sol cleaner in my food! I dont know why all the cooking show chefs (chevres? Ha ha little goat joke there!) keep pushing rosemary as a miracle herb.

Another thing we agree on! It's a Kwanzaa miracle!
