Watching trump i think reminds me soooo much of my parents craziness that it really upsets me, so i just cant, but my governor etc seems pretty cool. Its like, just wait it out.

I wear disposable contact lenses and I have a strong prescription. I have glasses but I hate wearing them, the lenses are thick so things look distorted, it's hard to drive. If I ran out of contacts right now I'd need a new prescription to get more. That would mean seeing the eye doc, and frankly I'd probably do so. It would be hard for me to function otherwise.

See, that's a bit different to me. And I also wonder if, for now, your eye doc could just email you your prescription, then you could order them online?

Or maybe people are going out places here too and I am just too hunkered down to know about it?

Where we are, they were telling people not to congregate in groups of more than 10. But people were still getting together in big groups in parks and playgrounds. The county executive put gates down on the parking areas of the parks/playgrounds, so no one could drive and park. People were parking on the highway outside the park instead and walking in...Which led them to announce closure of nonessential businesses (you'd be surprised at how many places are still considered "essential") and also that they could give citations to people violating the gathering of groups of 10 or more order. It's not technically a "shelter in place" or "lockdown" (and he said that). But people are just being idiots and not listening. I also heard about how signs and police tape were torn down at a local tot lot so people could still use it. What are you doing, people? The thing is, people not listening to orders will only lead to the restrictions lasting longer (as the virus likely spreads more...) I live in a suburban area, for the record.

I would go to the eye dr - before I had cataract surgery - my prescription changed yearly -being able to see to work/read/not run into things is necessary

Not sure if it would be legal for him to give me a prescription without actually examining me, but maybe. He's also very insistent about checking my retinas. The shape of my eyes means there is a risk of retina detachment.

In any case, I have about six months before I need to see the eye doc again. For now, at least, I'm speaking hypothetically. Who knows where we'll be in September, though.

One of the problems is having a prescription change

Oh really? I didn't know that. OK...in that case, everyone should carry on with the eye doctor appointments...or else shift the rules on filling prescriptions older than a year. I'm lucky in that right now I can rely on reading glasses (that I can get without prescription--in fact she suggested that I just use different strengths for up close and distance at my eye exam last year), but I think I'm hitting the point where I may need to consider bifocals.

Zoom broke on me while I was giving my lifelong learners class earlier. We solved it by me calling in to do the audio, which was so not ideal.

ETA: whoever (LT?) was saying they didn't like looking at themselves on their webcam, me too, and I found out Zoom has a "hide self" option today.

Yep, was me! The "hide self" makes it so much better... For some reason, I couldn't get it to work yesterday with D's T (P), but was able to sort of stash it in the corner. I got it to work with Dr. T today though.

And ugh, that sucks about Zoom crashing. I wonder if it has a limited capacity, and everyone using it now is overloading it?

Looks like my T is finally switching to telesessions next week. Not a surprise and it's probably good, but I'm not real thrilled at the idea.

Sent ex-T a check-in email earlier today for the first time in like 2 years (partly due to her being over 70, so concerned about her being OK with Covid, though I wasn't explicit about the age thing). She responded kindly and with caring. Makes me feel better about how things ended with her, that she doesn't hate/resent me...

We all knew my flooziness (and chocoholism) would be the end of me.

I get on the elevator to go pick up a box of amazon chocolates and get my mail, it stops at an intermediate floor. As the person begins boarding, i politely but assertively say, "Would you mind waiting for the next..." then i see that its the VERY cute guy who KNOWS I have a total crush on him.

He gets on. He says, "oh even my mama cant tell me no" or something like that. Overtalking him, i say, "a hospital worker? How dangerous can it be? Give me a kiss, baby!" He laughs, he goes so how you doin. We maintain our distance!

I hung a treat stick on the side of the guinea pig cage. They seemed to fight over it. OK, they come in a 2-pack, so I put the other one in. They fought over *that* one. I guess it was bigger? They seemed to have calmed down about it now. I will say, watching the social interactions between two female guinea pigs in the same cage is a good distraction from what's going on in the world. Periodic fights for dominance, random chattering, squealing when I stand up because they think I might give them food... At least they make me forget for a few minutes...

our director at work asked us all to send in selfies of us working at home. i waited until i was having a good hair day to send mine haha they are making a big collage of our selfies to send out to everyone to make us feel connected as a team. most of us have already been working at home, and its fun to see what we all look like. i haven't seen pics of many of my teammates in other states. and haven't seen several of my local teammates in quite awhile either!

I forgot how funny Whose Line is It Anyway i have been watching both the UK and Amercan versions. I also discovered there is a more recent one with a female host. I am just about to watch a 3 hour video of the best of the Hoedowns. I laughed so hard yesterday i fell off my couch.
