Wait, is that how handshaking started? (My H is the history person, not me!)

And I finally got up the nerve to ask if Red Fish was doing OK (the one he had in his office who always seemed excited to see me). He said she was. I said I was reluctant to ask for fear he'd say he flushed her a week ago. He said something about getting a replacement, and I said I'd be like, "Wait, I thought she was more red, this one is purple," and how he'd say "Oh, they can change color." He said he'd put food coloring in the bowl to make her look the same. It's those sorts of little exchanges that help me feel more connected over telehealth.

It is 91 degrees right now! It's too early in the year for it to be this hot! At least the governor is opening some of the beaches for exercise.

My t is currently 20mins late for our computer appointment. He is home, not going anywhere, not working his teaching job. Why would he be late still????

Oh... he just texted to say he would be online in a minute. No offense for those who are late, but it is one of my biggest pet peeves ever. And some how I ended up with t who is always late.

Ouch, healed. That must be hard to swallow.
I have been very fortunate, and only experienced the one stuff up since the switch to teletherapy.

The time before last my regular T was 30 minutes late in calling me. I thought she had forgotten about me. She didn't apologize for being late or anything. But I was just pleased to talk with her so I let it go, but at the time when I thought she had forgotten about me, it felt really bad. Sorry you are going through that Healed!

T2 has been late every single appointment I've had since I started seeing him in February. It makes me really question why I continue to see him. He apologizes and gives me the whole session time, sometimes over, but still. 5 minutes late is one thing, he's usually 15-30 minutes late every time.

I'm sad. I don't get to see L again until Monday She's dealing with an emergency and will be out of town. T is on back up for emergencies, but I don't want to call unless I have to. I miss L already.

Our CPS caseworker came by today and we briefly discussed some things. He gave me a link to a place that provides legal assistance for DV victims. I told him H has been asking when he can come back in the house and even mentioned it again today. Caseworker said they would have some serious concerns if he came back in the house that would affect our case, so he's going to "gently remind" H that he needs to stay out. He also said what others have been telling me, that I seem to be doing a lot better than 3 months ago. It's good to hear when I feel like I'm still struggling a lot.

So I found out I have a nickname among the administration today. It’s from the fact that my courses are always top-enrolling, thus bring in $$$. I’m the goose, as in the goose that lays the golden eggs.

HONK HONK HONK! If you’ll excuse me I’ll be sitting over here laying some bullion.

tomorrow is my friday! i think i like this sunday-thursday work week. Last Sunday went by so fast, because of no email interruptions and hardly any conversation in our team chat, so i was just in the zone working my messages and i was highly productive to boot.

H is starting to make noises about taking a trip somewhere in-state. I said um, not yet dude, slow your horses. Now is not the time. So now he's pouting. What on earth is he thinking?! Sigh. I'm not going to argue about this. We are not going anywhere but the grocery store for the foreseeable future and that is final. Artie has spoken!

L was super sweet tonight. She sent me 10 "Open when..." emails. Example: Open when you're feeling unsafe". She also sent me reminders emails for each day she's gone. She's been sending me daily reminder emails since the shelter-in-place started reminding me of truths: she's there, she's not leaving me, we'll get through this together, etc. I know it will be hard without her, but I have to remind myself how lucky I am to have her in my life. She always goes above and beyond. I'm feeling very loved tonight.

I’m looking forward to next spring when a colleague of mine in biology and I are team-teaching a course on “Great Plagues in History.” She’ll do the science and I’ll do the history and primary source analysis.

This was in the works before the current pandemic, so it’s not on our syllabus.

I would sign up for that course, but I also decided as a freshman that taking Russian as my foreign language was a good idea.
