The reason I thought Portland was because they have signs saying Keep Portland Weird. Also, it was highly unfriendly to me, a Californian.

Makes sense. I wasn't sure who had it first. I've heard both but I've seen the signs in Portland.

I always thought California was pretty friendly until I was at Uni and met a man from Iraq who was super cool. He said he used to live in my city but he said he felt like everyone thought he was a terrorist. I asked him what neighborhood. So he told me. And I was like, oh, that neighborhood is very exclusive, very monied, and very traditional. So I felt bad for him. But several states that I have visited have been unfriendly to me, a Californian. Oregon and Colorado were the most unfriendly. Shouting at me to go back home. Sheesh!

that's exactly what i don't get - the politicizing of it all. thanks for finding the word i was looking for.

Probably not since I don't think anybody is capable of meeting all of somebody else's needs.

I relate to the frustration or insecurity or whatever of a therapist who has a tendency to say stuff like that whenever you express discontent. The one I see has developed a habit of suddenly thinking she is not and has never helped me at all whenever I am angry with her or otherwise not the picture of compliance. This leads to asking if I think someone else might help me more. It's really annoying.

In fact, I'm thinking seriously about firing her over text in order to avoid a tiresome session on Thursday where I'll be chastised then asked for reassurance that she's helping me. I just don't feel like it.

The multicolored one is Lexie and the mostly solid one is Amelia (they came with the names from the shelter--we were going to change them, but they stuck). Lexie is the more dominant one.

I have a kitty named Amelia (I named her) but sometimes I call her Lupita (Lu for little and PITA for Pain In The ***) Mostly when she is outside and supposed to be inside, or she is in the front yard and is supposed to be in the backyard, or when she isn't in the yard at all!

My 78 year old mother went and got a haircut on Friday. I was dumbfounded. This a week after she told me she was staying in as much as possible. I should have lectured her, but I didn't.

what i mean by that is, our politicians here in the US are not working together like they should be, that's all. I don't 'do' politics so that's all i really can say.

I don't think lecturing anyone helps. I know for me, it just ticks me off but really doesn't change what I do.

There's definitely a culture in Portland around not wanting Californians to move there and drive up the housing prices. I'm sorry they were unfriendly to you though.

CPS finally rescheduled our family team meeting that was canceled back at the end of March. It's next Thursday online. From the email it seems like they are doing separate ones for my H and I like we discussed. I'm already nervous about how it's going to go. This case involvement was only supposed to be 3-6 months and they've been involved since December. My son has been doing better in the last month.
Possible trigger:

I'm not sure if that's going to affect this case or if they're going to close it after next week.
