I got to see my son this evening! woohoo! he came over to use our garage/tools to change the oil in his truck. I wore my mask and sat at least 6 feet away from him so we could chat while he worked. I miss him so much.

Eta - a younger cousin posted a boys on the beach photo. I was like, omg, is that NOW? So i dont know if the covid clock is ticking on that side of the family or what now. I dont want to ask. Im already the family grump. Curmudgeoness.

I'm hoping when they send us more information about it they'll 'splain themselves.

I really really need to take one of your classes. Once they're in person, anyway. I can't imagine a gushing cow sacrifice is quite the same over Zoom.

Depends on how crowded the beaches are and where (like, I wouldn't go to a beach in Florida, Texas, or southern California right now--though they're closing many of those back up, at least for the holiday weekend). We may be going down in a couple weeks to a place my parents recently bought. The beaches are really wide there (like distance between ocean and dune), and they said they haven't been that crowded. And we'd be there only on weekdays. We have no plans to go out anywhere (possibly food carryout or something)--certainly not to the boardwalk or anything. But it's partly for a change of scenery.

I let Dr. T "meet" one of my guinea pigs today. I had her next to me on couch and asked if he wanted to see her at start of session. So I held her on my chest a couple minutes, then briefly moved her toward camera. Dr. T: "Oh! She's big!" I asked if he was thinking hamster-size, and he said he thought she'd be more squirrel-sized, but she's a bit bigger than that. At the end of session, he was like, "Thanks for letting me meet your little friend." (I'd have let him meet the other one, too, but she'd have likely squealed in dismay the whole time. This one is generally chill when I pick her up.)

And why she always smells like garlic. But that doesnt work for eyetalian vampires.

True—they give you the MD when you graduate from medical school, which I did three years ago. The finishing-residency thing means that I have done my indentured servitude training process and am now a fully-cooked grown-up doctor, so I work about half as much and get paid like 2-3 times as much. It’s brilliant.
