In comes Bob Newhart, Artie.

So tonight I had my second “date” with a girl I met through the friendship app. I mentioned why I was picking at my food (yay, depression!) and in turn she kind of opened up about her struggles. More than I opened up by a lot. Afterwards she was like, sorry for putting all of that out there, to which I was chuckling internally. If only you knew my story.

Also I really worry about people getting COVID again. I don’t want to do that again. It was awful.

No one knows for sure but everything I’ve seen on the subject suggests “second” illnesses are either the first bout not actually having passed or a positive test resulting from dead virus lingering in the body.

Hey, Artie, I understand your fears. I said to Dr. T at one point how I couldn't live with myself if I gave it to him and he ended up in the hospital (or worse)--or if his wife and/or son did. As part of my understanding why he was continuing to do only telehealth, likely until fall.

I wonder if maybe it's like mono (Epstein-Barr), where it can reactivate? (I've had that happen, confirmed by bloodwork.) Or like with chickenpox and shingles.

That’s basically what I am afraid of. I had both my mono and shingles reactivate. I also had some of the weirder childhood diseases. I do not have good luck when it comes to illness 😷

So, I've come to the realization that, I live in this house, I can sing along to songs if I want. Did a bit of that tonight. Apparently, my D asked H, "Is Mommy singing?" He said that I was. I spared them some of the more brutal stuff that I only do when alone in the car (see: Adele, for example).

I honestly don't know why anyone would assume they were the specific carrier unless they went and got tested. It is not like you are the only person your therapist is coming into contact with. I try to be as reasonably safe as possible, but I am not the person that controls what everybody else does. If I was seeing a therapist and they caught it I pretty much would not assume they caught it from me. If I was all that worried about being a carrier I'd go get tested.

I did get pressured into canceling an airplane flight this weekend. I was going to pick something up from what is becoming a huge hotspot but basically I think I was just capitulating to hysteria Rather than that I personally was in all that much danger.

Thanks LT. That's how I feel. I would not be able to live with myself if she got sick again because I went in there, because I was being selfish and greedy in agreeing when she offered and said she wasn't worried about it because she has antibodies now. I still should have said thank you but no thank you. I responded to her that I hoped we didn't make a mistake meeting in person and I hope that she stays well. she responded basically saying she invited me, it was her decision to do so, and that i did nothing wrong and she was rather stern about it upon which I began crying and promptly opened a bottle of wine. I won't say I never should have gone back as a blanket statement but I will be staying away in the future. We do good work together, but there's other elements that just **** everything up and I need to stay away from her and find another ****ing t immediately. This dynamic is just too, something, I don't know. Damn sam **** a rug.

I'm on my 3rd glass of wine so just ignore me. I know I'mbeing an overly dramatic boob. ****.

I found some beef jerky in the back of the cupboard from my early gf days, boiled it to tenderize it, cut it smaller, and added it to baked beans.

I’m livin’ the Park Avenue life here.

I have some turkey jerky for the dogs when they are super duper - it is their special treat along with hot dogs.

Wow. I did not even think of offering loan dog any.

On the other hand it’s pepper flavored.

I'm really surprised my shingles haven't reactivated. speaking of childhood diseases i had german measles after being vaccinated against them. of course I'd already had measles, mumps, and chicken pox before that.

super duper does not really compute coming from your user name

As long as it is not way spicy - I would give him a little piece. Plus -isn't he now just dog? He isn't really loaner any more is he?

It only applies to the pets - just the dogs even. The cats would snub me for such an overly enthusiastic phrase

Maybe this is me feeling defensive, but I don't think it's selfish or greedy to see your therapist in person, even less so when they offered.

I like two words for pet pseudonyms. Senior cat, junior cat, new cat, loan dog.

I guess I should replace loan.

I just watched a trailer for a Gerard Butler movie called Greenland. It's an asteroid-meets-earth disaster flick. I ended up ugly crying. I don't think I need anymore end-of-the-world and apocalyptic in my life right now, even if it's fictional.

Is he still a loan? "Loan dog" has a nice ring to it, even if it's not accurate anymore.
