Ugh, NP, I'm sorry. He could have at least apologized. Do you see him later today for a session? I recall you saying something about his being out of town, but I forget if that was now.

And I imagine the change is really hard on him, but it's also not fair for him to take that out on you...

Hugs to you as well, Kit. I hope your migraine goes away soon.

You're in CA, right? Are you anywhere near the wildfires? My aunt and uncle live in Fairfield (about an hour from San Francisco) and are OK so far, but I think part of their county has been affected.

Thanks LT. I'm in CA but I'm not near any wildfires. Unfortunately the smoke has made it's way past the mountains (there's fire on the other side of the mountains which are still about 15 minutes away from me, as the crow flies) and has polluted our air. Not good for my asthma. I think Northern CA is worse off than Southern CA and I'm in Southern CA. Our side of the mountain hasn't burned in 9 years so it is probably time but so far this year we have been lucky. HUGS Kit

glad you're not close to it. Was wondering if the smoke/pollution could have affected you in terms of the migraine, too.

Yes, he's out of town. His classes are apparently on Thursday and Friday. He said he's flying back tonight. We're supposed to meet Saturday at 9 am.

He told me that any feeling I'm having is welcome and to talk to him about it even if I'm angry at him. I'm not comfortable with anger and I tend to deny it. I decided to own it yesterday. The subject line of my email was "I'm angry". I understand that he's got a lot going on right now. But I still need him.

Hugs to all who need/want.

Just had zoom session with L, when i told her I had posted my poem to a poetry prompt thing on a FB group i'm in and that my mother had responded something like "You did it!" (how she even saw it is beyond me but anyway) L was like that's all she saw? that you followed the rules?! this poem says so much about you!!!! I was like yeah, well, that's my mom. she never 'got' my poetry and i stopped showing it to her a long time ago for that reason. L said maybe she can't dive deep. i said i don't think she can, oh my poor mommy! she said well yeah. that added another layer to my understanding of my mom and our relationship. I talked about how my poetry is so excruciatingly personal even when i'm given a prompt with 10 of the words to use. She really liked my phrasing "a necessary detour" to replace "regression" to describe where I've "been" the last couple of months.

I need to see an Ortho MD about my elbow - which I injured a few weeks ago (had surgery on it 15 years ago). I emailed my PCP for a referral yesterday - she sent the referral today, I called and the Ortho can get me in TODAY. I almost dropped the phone I couldn't believe it.

Hoping I don't need surgery.

That's great the ortho can see you so quickly--maybe they had a cancellation? Also hope you don't need surgery.

Dr. T and I were both wearing short-sleeved henley shirts (like t-shirts with 3 buttons today)--his was black, and mine was gray, but still sort of amusing. Especially because he pretty much always wears a button-down dress shirt. Guess it's casual Friday for him.

Pushing the envelope on getting the videos for my course captioned got me chided by my chair for taking the issue to the ADA office and not her.

1) she is not supposed to be communicating with me about this, legally, since she is my direct supervisor, hence through the ADA office, and 2) she has no right to chide me.

Furious.

I hate myself and am sick to death of studying so I made cookies.

Didn't help.

I'm livid on your behalf, ATAT. Reasonable adjustments need to be made for you to be able to do your job. Captions are a perfectly reasonable adjustment.

Just got back from the pool. Didn't swim before t because after last night's storm it was only 78 degrees (F) too cold for swimming in my book. Well, too cold for getting out soaking wet, anyway! So I went after instead. Oh my goodness how I have missed swimming. It's like a precious homecoming being back in the water.

I am both looking forward to T tomorrow and not looking forward to T tomorrow. From experience I will probably be glad that I went, particularly as I was not doing well earlier this week. I'm doing better now though, so now it seems like a waste. Funny how that is. I'm hoping T can give me some insight as to what was making it so hard this week for me. I'm hoping she will basically tell me what to do, which I know is not the point of a T but sometimes they slip and do go into advice mode. I just want her to be like, "When you feel x, do this. When you feel y, do this." It's too hard to figure out by myself.

I hear you Kit. Is there any chance you could say that?

'This week has been hard, but I'm feeling a little bit better now. I was hoping we could build on my/our crisis plan with some practical steps I could take, before I reach that point' (?)

I just texted with T. I know. After I was all concerned because she randomly texted me. But she hasn't done that for like 2 or 3 weeks now. I told her I was looking forward to seeing her tomorrow because it had been a tough week. She told me to Hang in because she would see me soon. Then she asked how my cat was doing! That was sweet of her. I told her Esther is back on antibiotics because she has another infection, that she is just getting old and sickly. T said she can relate to the getting old part!
