I have a zojirushi Hybrid water boiler and warmer so I always have hot water. It is great.

Me too. It's the appliance that gets the most use in my kitchen.

Going on a date with geneticist guy tonight (we were supposed to go on Wednesday but work was so crazy I couldn't get out in time). We're going to get hot chocolate and walk around outside where there are holiday lights. He asked me if I wanted to come over to his place and bake banana bread instead but since I've been taking care of COVID pts over the last week I figured it was safer to do something outside where we can be 6ft apart. He was totally understanding (I mean, he is a scientist; he gets it), but he also said (jokingly), "I would rather catch it from you than anyone else!"

This morning I'm debating whether I should drive to one of the local nature reserves for a walk. The weather people predict a <10% chance of rain but the sky looks pretty suspicious.

*flops onto Couch, whimpers*

Surely it's unprofessional to comment on somebody else's treatment, if you aren't their therapist?

Really? What do you use it for? I am intrigued but we're only one cup per day tea drinkers, so it doesn't seem worth replacing our electric kettle.

I commented on a friend's post on FB, and their partner's mother (who also happens to be their therapist) inferred that if I'm crying every week, my therapist isn't providing sufficient support to help me deal with things. 'It's financially better for them to leave you spinning your wheels.'

It's taken me a very long time to actually be able to express emotion in front of R.

Thanks, chihiro.

It's weird that crying is progress, but for me, it really is. For a long time, I couldn't even name an emotion that I was feeling.

For what it's worth, I've cried every week for the last two or three years with my T (maybe with an exception once or twice but pretty much each time) and I've never felt like I'm not making any progress or am not being helped...
It's not her place to say such things, she doesn't know you or your therapy at all. I hope it doesn't take away from how you feel about things, in my opinion crying each week is just fine and doesn't say anything about the therapist either.

Crying is not an uncommon response to many different things or for no reason at all. “Therapist isn’t providing sufficient support”? What a dumb comment

I’m confused by this part. Your friend and his/her partner see the partner’s mother for therapy? Or the friend does?

If that’s right, consider that the source doesn’t seem to know much about therapy and its ethics.

Isn’t that a major conflict of interest? For a therapist to see their child’s partner as a client?

Was thinking similar.

There's a movie with Uma Thurman that goes like that, but she'd already been with the her T longer then met her son randomly.

I read an article that said we Brits spent an extra £260 million on chocolate this year.

I found these ones at my local store. Sooo good.

You'd think so, ATAT...it's a weird situation all over in my opinion.
This seems to be the conclusion that both 'friend' and friend's therapist have come to, despite there being much evidence to the contrary.

Uh oh. I think my T forgot about me. Her office is locked. Her car isn't outside. She could just be late but I don't have a good feeling about this at all.

Thanks Lost. I hope T is okay too. No reply yet. She always says to text her and she will call me back. I guess I will just wait in the parking lot for the duration of when my appointment time should be and see if she calls me. I really hope she is coming, as I am busy next Saturday and then it will be Christmas. I would hate to not see her the whole month of December.
