Like a therapy fund.

I'm puzzled as to how Info keeps misplacing her scheduling book. If it's like ex-T's was, it's pretty big, right? And you said how she's in a smaller office now? She needs to come up with a regular place to put it. Along with any client payments. I say this as someone who tends to misplace things, so I've learned, say, that I always need to keep my car keys in the same place.
I have just been giving my stimulus checks to charity (food banks, education for girls in the third world, libraries). I don't need the money for myself and I feel icky that the checks are being sent to people like me who don't need them (and the government is perfectly capable of determining who actually needs them), so I want them away from me and my bank account asap.

The appointment book is quite large, but she had been in the larger office for the client before me, and I asked for the smaller office specifically, and so we searched both offices. Also she had left the charge slip for a previous client in the card machine, so I could easily have read it or swiped it if I wanted to.

Info moves in mysterious ways.

ETA: this morning my hair looks like Amy Klobuchar's, but a little longer.

I've been super struggling for a few days now and I'm tired- skipped 2/3 classes this week. They haven't been taking a register thankfully and only for neurosurgery which we already knew so I went in for the whole week but I feel bad not going.

Hugs, Lemon. And the "cheating on him" comment is really inappropriate and sort of possessive. You should be able to see whatever T or pdoc you want. Wasn't there another T you saw once or twice? Could you potentially contact them?

Today's fun fact about Dr. T: The coffee he is constantly drinking in session includes the following: sugar, half & half, a spoonful of hot chocolate mix. For some reason, I'd just assumed he was drinking it black...

Just checked the policy: "You won't get a stimulus check if your adjusted gross income (AGI) is greater than: $80,000,"

I think it's nice of you to donate yours @@.

I also think the price of food will become more of an issue worldwide. I'd recommend you guys just to also keep a bit extra in your homes.

That is very kind of you. Our church asked members who felt they did not need the stimulus to donate them to a fund for members who might need extra help. I can say my family benefited from those kind donations during my husband's furlough and illness. It's been a difficult year.

(I think the reasoning on not being more discriminatory on who gets the stimulus payments was that getting the formula figured out and system programmed to figure it out would delay payments to a degree that would be detrimental to the very people that needed the help as immediately as possible.)

My T and I talked about the stimulus checks. We qualified for a small check on the first round, nothing since. In the end, I think I agree with her thoughts that if everyone got it, then everyone could spend it however they wanted. Personally, we used ours to partially pay for house project that wasn't in the immediate plans, thus giving local contractors that were out of work/between jobs ... some work. Our own personal trickle down.

Another issue in terms of the stimulus is that I know one senator had recommended lowering the threshold to $50,000 for an individual. Which is a lot of money in some parts of the country (like West Virginia, where the senator was from), but not in others with a high cost of living, especially in a case where that person might be a single parent (and would then be missing out on both the money for themselves and their child). And it would be entirely too complicated it to base it on location (though I suppose they could have gone by the cost of living adjustments they have for federal employee pay in certain areas?)

I think they just wanted to get the money out as fast as possible, and this was the easiest way. To me, it's better that some people get it who don't need it than to miss a bunch of people who do.

Thank you and to everyone else for the replies.

I haven't contacted that other T yet- at the moment I feel like I'm having a hard time justifying spending that money on myself. 50 mins to listen to me complain when that money could be spent on buying food for another family or another session for my sister.

I just watched two hummingbirds having a very vocal mid-air duel in my yard. I'd heard they were territorial, but never seen it in action.

Yes, this is how I look at it. I know part of the concern is that people who didn't really need it were just putting it in savings, so not helping the economy (I guess helping banks?) I feel like as long as it's being spent somewhere, then it's helping. But then, saving it could also make total sense if someone is barely getting by.

Thank you. I do indeed. I checked the calendar this morning and submitted a request for a couple days off next week. hopefully it gets approved. i may ask to see L twice next week instead of just once, as well.

How soon do you usually find out if your leave has been approved?

Hope you can rest soon.

Hugs, Artie. Time off and maybe seeing L twice next week sounds like a good idea. I'm sorry you're struggling so much. (I also saw you posted things about fearing getting attached to L by seeing her weekly again, but I think if you need the support, it's worth that risk.)

Also, this might be entirely off base, but I think you said you got the first dose of the vaccine recently, right? Dr. T and I have been talking about how it can often become more difficult when you know you're near the end of a difficult period/waiting for something (like, the last week of job that you resigned). I wonder if something could be going on related to that at all? Where it's like you're near the end of having to be as concerned about the pandemic, but not quite there yet? Or maybe have mixed feelings about things getting back to some semblance of normal?

@@ you started a trend. I'm getting my hair cut at 4 PM today after work. Can't wait. It's been far too long since I've been to the salon. Looking forward to some pampering.

Thank you. They do approvals on Wednesdays so hopefully I'll have an approval email tomorrow morning (I've already logged off now). The rest of the month the calendar is full so I asked for thursday 4/8 so I'll have a 3 day weekend at least. april is pretty booked up unfortunately they allow only 4 people off per day and I guess everybody has cabin fever right now cuz most days are already full.

Could be, I hadn't thought about that possibility. Yep, I got my first shot last week and my 2nd one is 4/9. I'm sure I also have an added bit of anxiety over that 2nd shot, too; a couple of my friends just got their 2nd one (Pfizer as well) and they both felt super terrible afterwards. One of them was sick and in bed for 2 days after, and running a 101 fever. (she's back to normal today, good to hear.) So I imagine that is adding to my anxiety as well.

Enjoy! I know it hasn't been that long at all since I got mine cut twice in a row haha (like a week apart or something) but it just felt so darn good to do something for me, I may have to go get another couple inches cut off on Friday and ask them to style it for me since I am no good at all at styling. Actually it feels like it's already grown back out 2 inches! My hair grows so fast.

I have moved on from carpet cleaning videos to anti scammer videos. My tactic with scammers when they call is to sing the Spomge Bob Square pants theme over and over. I usually get through it about twice and they have hung up. I dont get calls anymore. Only from legitimate telemarketers like Red Cross and the rural fire brigade

Chiding German chair is stepping down in a year. I’m going to miss being a thorn in her side.

And please no one feel defensive about how I spent my stimulus money. I just felt really icky about having money I didn’t need and hadn’t earned, and I really had nothing to spend it on, so it went to charity. Ymmv.

I'm so excited! It's been a few years since I got a tattoo. I'm going to get one for my birthday this year. It's a few months away, but I've already started communicating with the shop about it.
